So my crush and I hugged for a really long time. It felt like 5 minutes (I know it was much shorter) but it didn't feel like a regular hug. The hug was really really tight and hard, like she didn't want to let me go. Is there any meaning or signals that this could mean?

Ehhh I disagree with surf in this instance. I've been on dates where it started out with a hug and then maybe a quick kiss much later on. It may be a prelude to something more; don't give up quite just yet. Give her a tiny bit more time. Maybe she's just getting warmed up to you.

You know, A Hug can be the start of something, For example my current relationship started with some talks and a big hug .

If both are shy you will never say what you really want, and try to show it in a "friendlier" way instead of going all out, might be the case.
