My friend and I have a wonderful friendship and had both communicated romantic interest at some point. But now she says she isn't thinking of romance right now. She says she wants to be friends without excluding the possibility of something more.
Any thoughts?

Either she wants to keep you around in case she doesn't find anything better (but doesn't want you here and now in case she does) or she's playing hard to get in order to make you want and pursue her more. Or both.

You want her you will have to stop being friends with her.....cut her off or you will never get out of the friends zone. The less available emotionally to her you are, the more desirable you will be to her. Trust me, the minute you start being distant, being too busy, hanging out with other girls, being aloof, not answering her texts right away, giving one word answers, she's gonna be chasing you hard.
