I have never been in a relationship before. I met a girl not too long ago and I was sure that she likes me.
But I probably took too long to make a move considering that she just got her own guy.
Surprisingly after a few days, they already split apart.
Before she always walked with me home (We live close together).
After the break-up, she became very distant from me (???).
I tried to say hi one time but she flat out ignored me :/ .
Now Im here scratching my head, why is she ignoring me, does she need space?
I feel that I have summed up the courage to ask her out, but I need her attention first.

It's possible new guy knew about your walks home together and got jealous, they fought about it and he ended up dumping her. So now she is keeping her distnce from you to prove to him nothing was going on between you. I suspect she's gonna try to get back with him.

You were friend zoned anyways, so don't worry about it.

Or she found out he has a GF and is too embarrassed about it....she needs her space. Whatever it is you need to just back off and let her recover from whatever happened. Let her come to you. If she doesn't then you weren't anything to her in the first place.

I agree with Smackie. Something most likely happened with her relationship that's causing her to be distant. But in my observations, most of the time, even if it was a bad relationship, the pair still get back together. I used to see it all the time in middle school. The important thing to remember is that if she cares, she'll still at least be your friend. And if she rejects you at all, that is if you're given the chance, then you will find someone else and things will be better off. So, regardless of whether or not you get the girl, use this to learn from. Because the way I see it, you can learn about self worth and the idea of time from this, just as Smackie and Backup suggested.
