eHarmony, founded in 2000 in Pasadena by Dr. Neil Clark Warren, Becomes First Dot-Com in the History of the Rose Parade

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – September 18, 2013 – eHarmony today announced music legend Natalie Cole will be featured on its float for the 2014 Rose Parade. The nine-time Grammy award-winning artist will be singing one of her iconic songs, “This Will Be” along with new songs from her Billboard Latin Pop Album chart-topping CD Natalie Cole en Español.

In keeping with this year’s parade theme, “Dreams Come True”, eHarmony has named its float “Everlasting Love”, honoring the mission of the company’s founder, Dr. Neil Clark Warren – to help everyone find their “Everlasting Love”.

“Having been a member of the Pasadena-area community for over 40 years, it brings me great joy to be part of the Rose Parade and to have the wonderful, talented Natalie Cole perform on our float,” said Dr. Warren. “At eHarmony, we believe there is a meaningful, fulfilling relationship out there for everyone, and we are thrilled to bring that hope and promise to the national audience that waits for this event every year. We are proud to be part of the Rose Parade.”

“Growing up in Southern California, I have always enjoyed watching this legendary parade,” commented Cole. “eHarmony is about finding your soul mate and I am so thrilled that they have decided to use the lyrics of my first hit, ‘This Will Be (An Everlasting Love),’ as the name of their first float ever in the Rose Parade.”

Inspired by both a growing passion for the timeless romanticism of the great Latin music composers and the bilingual recording legacy of her father, Natalie Cole recently released her first Spanish language album “Natalie Cole en Español.” Recorded with lush arrangements and stunning attention to detail, the album has seen a new generation of music fans embrace these timeless standards and quickly propel the release to the top of Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart for nine weeks, the longest run of any artist in 2013. Wanting to bring these special songs to live audiences, Natalie Cole has added several of the tracks to her concert repertoire and will be performing them on the eHarmony float.

The Phoenix Decorating Company will partner with eHarmony to create the float, bringing its 31 years of experience imagining and building floats that reflect the sponsor’s vision. The Phoenix Decorating Company is the winner of 230 Rose Parade awards.
