Asking a girl for her pic - need opinions please

So basically I have known this girl for a while but we haven't spoke for ages. this is part of the message I sent her:

I asked a girl on text something like "can you send me a new pic? i want to see your face again :-)"
she said "i don't know about that ;-D"
i then said "come on I really want to see your pic ;-) i'll send you mine afterwards"

I was wondering If I was too forceful, or needy? i am still awaiting a reply from her.
