Can I trust BF with sock fetish?

Hi guys, I need some advice. I will try to make it brief.

I have been dating my BF for 8 years, We are both 27. He has a sock fetish. He has never cheated and is usually quite sweet but he is addicted to porn. I have caught him talking to girls about their socks on tumblr and taking sneaky pictures of girls feet in rl. I talked to him about this being perverted and making me feel a bit betrayed and he felt bad and stopped (except for the porn of course). I do put out and defiantly play to his fetish on a daily basis. Here's where the issue comes up, my friend is the same age as me and is going through a really bad divorce. She has a small kid and is moving in with my boyfriend and I for a few months to get back on her feet. She is a nice person with good work ethic and will not take advantage of our kindness, but of all ****ing things she is a runner. Her prancing around in sweaty runner socks might as well be prancing around in a string bikini.

I know I have self-esteem issues. I have talked to my bf about my paranoid jealousy over this and he says he will not stare at her feet or touch/smell her socks when they are laying about the house. (He has stolen socks and masturbated to them before we dated). I have considered telling my friend prior to her stay with us so she is aware, which my bf is embarrassed about but did not disagree. He also HATES black socks so I have considered that as some kind of solution... but then again I think I may just be overreacting from my PTSD of being cheated on in the past.

Should I tell my friend to please be aware of her feet or ask her to wear black socks? Or should I keep my bf's secret and just grin and bear it when shes innocently walking about the house? If you were going to stay with your friend would you want to be aware? Advice would be appreciated as it seriously feels like I am about to star in a Jerry Springer episode or a bad sock fetish fan fiction.

I've never heard of a sock fetish, a foot fetish ..yes but not the other. Does bare feet turn him off? I'd tell her if she is moving in with you and him she needs to be informed about any issues with the living arrangements and you obviously feel that is a big issue, so I'd tell her and tell her not to let him know you said anything. If black socks help deter then by all means encourage her to wear black socks as well. Whatever will lessen any awkward living situations.

Thanks dollhouse. I have been wanting to tell her and your comment helps confirm I should. Sock fetish is similar to a foot fetish, he does like barefeet as well but loves the smoothness, and dirty imprints of socks alot more. I didn't know it was a thing either until I started dating him, but there is quite a following for it. Aside from really awkward situations like the one with my friend, it mostly has alot of perks.

Ummmm how about seeking out professional help for your BF's fetish? Most who have a fetish are perfectly harmless and restrict it to their own personal space. BUT it's concerning that you have to monitor his behavior because it's spilling over with him getting his fix through strangers on the net, stealing peoples socks to masturbate with and now you fear for your house guest and have to do damage control. By doing nothing about it other than banning sock use in your house is enabling him to carry on with his obsession. He's got OCD and it should be address by a therapist, especially when you know he lacks control over it. The guy needs help. Have that conversation with him.

    Hi hazey,
how would he have Obsessive Compulsive disorder? He definitely has a porn fetish but getting any guy to seek help for that is next to impossible. He stole socks when he was single and a teen, never since I have known him, but still the opportunity will now be there and I wonder.

I talked to my soon-to-be house guest and she was okay with it, saying everyone has their kinks and that was that. The bf knows she knows which embarrasses him but shes my friend who I would probably tell one drunken night anyway, and it will definitely keep him from staring. Personally I would want to know if I lived with someone with an odd fetish, like a panty fetish for example, so I wouldn't leave my underwear lazily in the bathroom without thinking about it or something like that, or leave them on purpose if that was my thing. I may just be overreacting to situations that haven't even happened. I got trust issues mang
