Women Who Don't Wear Wedding Rings

Why don't some women, married for decades, wear wedding bands? I can understand that some physical reason can cause it but, in the absence of that, what else could? I'm thinking of one person whose husband doesn't wear a wedding band either. Is that a sign the marriage has failed?

Not necessarily. Sometimes they can't wear them at work. Maybe they're getting it resized or cleaned or something. Or maybe they prefer not to wear one.

Some men don't want a ring, some people gain weight and the ring no longer fits and they don't want to pay to resize it.

Some are common law but call themselves married so no ring is required. I know some men who wear it on a necklace. Some get a tattoo instead. Some lose the ring or the setting gets damaged and the money is better spent on something else, like school supplies and clothes for the kids.
