Need advice on first relationship
I’ve been in a relationship for about 9 months now. How the relationship began is not the greatest love story… She was my coworker and we’ve been friends for about 2 years. She is married (3 years) and about a year and a half ago, her husband left her, at around the same time my grandmother had suffered a debilitating stroke. Needless to say that we grow closer consoling one another, and also because a year before she lost her grandmother. At the time we both completely respected one another, we just grew closer as simply friends and at work only. About 10 months ago, we grew even closer and started talking on the phone and whatnot, and one day started talking about sex. Her only sexual partner was her husband, I had no experience at all, and she started joking about doing me the favor and to not get ourselves to fall in love. Long story short we did it and ended up falling in love since we already had feelings for each other.
I sometimes think this way we started our relationship is doomed to failure. I enjoy spending time with her listening to her and whatnot. Some things make me think twice about the relationship. We have absolutely nothing in common. Our interests and likes are COMPLETELY different.
She is 26 and I’m 28. She talks a lot about having children and I’ve told her, first it is a little early to talk about that and second I have NO desire to have any. She has quite a temper. Lately, I try to calm her down but end up fueling her rage… So I just stay quiet and let her steam. Usually her anger is not directed at me, but I feel uncomfortable.
Sometimes I think about dumping her but I lover her so much that I think I should just suck it up and try to adapt myself. I have no real experience, since this is my first relationship.
