Update: Ex contacted me....

by sending a text message. He asked if I would like some of his children's clothes that he was sorting though. As with many people, money is tight so I replied that would be nice and he said he would drop them off at my door one day.

A couple of weeks ago, he checked out my dating profile. My profile is hidden now since I am interested in this new person. Is this just coincidence or do you think there is more to it? My close friends tell me it is NOT about the clothes and he is trying to open up communication between us.

I am already dating someone else, but he doesn't know this because we haven't been in contact for a few months. I kept my replies very, very short (but polite) and think I've reached a place where I feel excited to explore things with the new guy and leave the past in the past. My gut is telling me he has some doubts after breaking my heart. Why do they come back after the damage is done? Do you think he was trying to be nice or there's more to it? I was really head over heels and wanted to marry him, but think I would be afraid to take a chance again because our breakup caused me so much pain. Any advice? His reappearance confuses me.

umm honestly you need to keep walking. you're dwelling on the past, he's simply curious. I'm curious about my ex and check him out on facebook. that doesn't mean I think dumping him was a mistake.

Ima need you to pay attention! Dont read to much into this. You've made awesome progress yes? Try not to take any steps back like so many of us do. Continue with your new guy and use the clothes for your kids and leave it at that. Let him drop em off at the door like he said he would. You'll know soon enough rather he's trying to creep back into your life or not.

You don't need to read into it. It boils down to something pretty simple: if he was done with you, he wouldn't be talking to you again, especially about trivial things. He's not done with you.

It's up to you if you want to give it another shot. Usually after a break up, if there is ever a chance, there's likely only one. Do you think he is ready to hold up his end of the bargain? Do you think there has been enough time passed and he's been enough on his own to really change? If not, I'd take it easy with him and not try to rush back into anything.

You have lots going on in your life. Do you want to try something with your online date? Maybe you should focus on that.

Which brings me to another question: has anybody ever wanted to go back to exes, and if so, why?
