Ah, I was thinking something else, excuse my last.
She's talking about diamond grading... not conflict diamonds. My point remains: if you like the way it looks, who cares what grade it is?
What is more important to me is having a non-conflict diamond.
And, if you care so much about a certified diamond you could be totally shocked that your guy bought you a color grade diamond Z and a clarity grade of 1. Ouch.
That's what I thought, but don't keep up with the Debeers propaganda.Quote:

are non conflict diamonds not certified 'non conflict'? yes they are. if she talking otherwise then whatever, diamonds imo are unethical full stop
She specifically mentioned "diamond grading".
I *THINK* most guys do research on diamond buying... They ARE spending multiple thousands... who'd want to get ripped off?
And even the simplist search on google will get you hundred of "CCC" diamond buying guide. Cut, color, clarity. Unless he's a tool he will know a little something about this.
Glad to be wrong. It was blind optimism that caused me to keep the thread open.Quote:

Like girl68, I care more about conflict-free than grading. My diamond ring is certified conflict-free, but i don't even know about the CCC's of the thing.
I agree that it's at least half DeBeers propaganda.
What's that?Quote:

And CCC's are pretty common when you look up anything to do with diamonds, buying, grading, selling blah blah blah. But yeah whatever. Conflict free is what I'm after.

Manufactured perception of value.
Ohhhh is that that 3 months salary idea made up by them?
and now for a response from someone with a penis....NO, we don't give a toss about such ridiculous things. :P
having said that, I would buy my baby whatever she wanted (within reason, of course) if it's what she genuinely wanted, and really loved it. just this week I tracked down a south-sea pearl with a diamond/rose gold clasp (it's on some sort of silk braid necklace thingy - looks nice) that she'd seen a while ago but I couldn't afford at that very minute. I'm really looking forward to surprising her with it at x-mas.
but I don't care what grade it is or whatever, just that she loves it. :)
I like conflict diamonds. And battery hens.
Interesting. It used to be two months salary. Those greedy pig people.Quote:
