I didn't read the rest of this thread but ultimately speaking, if the point of life is to carry on your genes, then being single is kinda detrimental to that cause.
Also, I don't about where you're from but if you're married in the US as opposed to single, you pay about 6% less on income taxes. It's true - society doesn't want you to be single.
Single people are lonely, adult after I think there should be another half belong to oneself
Single people are being looked at as handicapped, they are always being judged as something is wrong with them either mentally (personality, character) or physically (looks)
I enjoy being "single" for a while, 3 months or so, having time to yourself and hobbies and work. but after a while I start getting paranoid that I'm not getting flirted with or hit on. What the hell is wrong with me? The longer I go single the more my self esteem goes down. Why? I don't know its pretty weak.
its the most natural want and need in most people. it's nature. our bodies are made attractive to the opposite sex purely for mating purposes. nature wants us to be together so that the species will not die. todays society has changed, people are disconnected by earphones, tv and technology in general. people live in their little boxes playing the part they are supposed to; slave. work and hey maybe one day you'll be special, better than the rest. tv tells thats possible right?...just so long as we are made to feel inadequate and that what we have is not enough and that we can do better and better and better and better and better until we die of heart attack wondering wtf did we achieve? try not to be so judgmental of the opposite sex. you know you want them.
Screw nature... being human is about getting rid of animal instincts and listening to the voice of reason. I've fallen in love once, and it has only slowed me down in the really important matters of life, work and family. I wish it had never happened.
One day reproduction will be ensured by artificial means and there will be no more of this nonsense. We'll leave f***** hormones behind us and become truly rational beings.

We think we are worth preserving but giving the current human condition and how cruelly and indifferently we treat one another, I'm not sure the human race is actually worth preserving.
I think the human race is worth preserving... just not all of it.
Perhaps it would be best if people did spend more time being single before committing themselves to a relationship. Seems kind of odd when parents think it's so cute for children so young to mimic "dating." Kind of blatant when you think about it.
We have at least 40, possibly 50 years to learn all that we need in order to attract a decent mate, have kids, raise them and then pat yourself on the back in the golden years for "mission accomplished." What's the hurry?
And even better... with 6 billion people on the planet, is breeding really that desperately essential anymore? I'm sure the world can stand to have a few people remain single, and certainly shouldn't be looked down upon.

eh.. speak for yourself. there are evil people, yes. but majority of the human race have more connection to understand its not beneficial to the human race to hate. it's a very small minority that do (corporations and the like that value a life in terms of money and profit) and you are letting them manipulate you into becoming one of them. have a look at yourself. you are a corporations wet dream, all depressed about the meaning of life and the like so you go into your hole full of advertising images that make you believe the 'stuff' will make life better and then suddenly from all the sythetic stuff you consume you then get some weird disease and then die off still consuming their pills and dreams of a better life. sad reallyQuote:

A young woman should never be single. If she is single it indicates that she has failed to attract a man and is therefore not a successful woman. This means she is of low status and quality. Some people think that because I enjoy being in relationships that I am codependent and maybe that I need a man to make me feel worthwhile. While this was true early on in my life, I quickly began to discover how I could find companionship and still love myself at the same time.
I'm a very bright young woman. I am kind, empathetic, fun, honest, wise (my boyfriend tells me this), talented, adventurous, and I really love that I get to share myself with others. I've occasionally entered into relationships when being unsure of what I wanted and had it backfire, but I've learned as much from those situations as I did from my long-term relationships.
Each person I have ever dated or been with romantically has affected and changed me in some way. It has all been positive for me because I am alive and happy. I've been hurt very badly (some of you know a few of my stories), but I choose to value the fullness of my cup, even if it's not that much. I take the opportunity to form relationships because I love people. I am perfectly content to give 100% and I love making others happy. This has backfired quite a few times and I had to step back and learn from those experiences. Does my having hurt in the past mean that all people are mean and spiteful? Or that all men will cheat on me, or abuse me? No. I know this inherently and so I seek out new fulfilling experiences and ways to connect with people.
I have a lot to offer anyone who will let me into their life, and so I just keep exuding the optimism that has gotten me by so far. I would love to find a partner that I can share my life with, and until then I'll keep my eyes open. I would certainly be devastated if my current relationship failed in some way, but I know that I will survive just the same.
