It's all in the numbers and your technique. Keep going & don't get discouraged. Get some conversation going (start up an interesting conversation or generate some interest - always use humor / being funny - never be too serious) then structure an opportunity where you for example tell her that you are having an interesting conversation and if she would like to take it further by going for coffee or doing this or that so that you guys can continue the conversation.

It's great you got out of your shy cocoon!!! You are ahead of a lot of other guys out there. There is no magic number, it's simply persistance. Not necessarily towards the same girl though.

Hitting on chicks doesn't always produce the results that most people assume, especially when you are new to the game. That doesn't mean stop doing it either.

If ya walk up to a group of girls look for the one that is not getting the attention the others are getting, possibly with her arms crossed that looks somewhat bored but yet, not agetated.

Eye contact, practice maintaining it with passerbys, ones that look away just tell yourself they are too shy to hold it, even if they are not, because you really don't know for sure right? And do not forget to smile! :lol:

Catching and/or accusing chicks of hitting on you works wanders.
