I don't get your logic. Okay, suppose the government becomes oppressive. Suppose you have reason to rebel. So you gather up a score or so of like minded falla's, good ol' boys with bolt-action hunting rifles, maybe a few NRA poster-boys with pre-ban assault weapons. Anyway, you and your band of Merry Men decide to meet up in the basement of your house and talk strategy. There you are, rifle raised high, daring Uncle Sam to pry it from your cold, dead hands. Your fellow rebels whoot and cheer, raising their own weapons, ready to take on the world!
And then an F-14 swoops overhead, drops a smart bomb which flies through the front door and detonates, killing you all in a split second.
A rifle gives you power over civilians. It does not give you power over the military. If you think otherwise you're fooling yourself. What, do you want to die a martyr, is that it? Wanna be a hero, maybe have your name written down in the history books for fighting against insurmountable odds? What a waste of life that would be.

Me neither.
That's because there's no logic to get. It's just a party/group line without any logic behind it.Quote:

Ever heard of terrorism?
Yeah, I'll wrap a towel 'round my head too if it comes to that.
What's America about anyway, if you can't live how you want, or even die how you want?
I don't mind you dying the way you want, so long as it doesn't mean anyone else has to be involved and you don't plan to take anyone with you.Quote:

If the military imposes a police state, you better believe I have intentions on takin' a few people with me.Quote:

Freedoms should only exist if they don't cause other people harm, and open gun laws cause lots of harm.Quote:

You're making it seem like your day to day life would be unliveable without a gun and we both know that's not true
It's not a matter of what would be considered unliveable.Quote:

Humans are capable of living in some of the most wretched conditions conceivable, it's more a matter of whether I'd be willing to fight for what I believed in.
But other than places of extreme poverty, guns aren't part of most people's everyday lives. And what convience do guns offer exactly?Quote:

and with a felony, you can't purchase a gun. you can't even purchase ammo.
Do you know how incredibly easy it is to get your hands on a stolen gun? It takes very little street-smarts. You walk through a poor section of Baltimore and guys are coming out of the woodwork offering to steal for you. Guns, tools, whatever you need, man.
I'm not for banning guns outright (not against it, either). What I am for is punishing people whose guns are stolen and used in crime. Punishing people who steal those guns. Punishing people who buy them. And not little slaps on the wrist, either. I'm sick of gun stores running auctions around back so they can skirt laws. I'm sick of punkass kids getting their hands on these weapons. Things need to change.
this is where i agree.Quote:

If I couldn't, you better believe I'd Jack Bauer their asses, taking out as many enemies as I could before I went down. But really, in that scenario the country would fall into total chaos and getting my hands on a gun really wouldn't take long, so I wouldn't be fretting not having one to begin with.
i'd just stay in my trailor in the middle of nowhere. they'd probably get lost if they tried to terrorize south dakota.
maybe ppl should talking about this... the media is blowing it over exportion.
why let kids get more ideas and let them do it again? taking are guns away isnt gonna help shit! we wont be free and ppl will just take the time to build bombs if they wanna kill ppl

^^heart breaking, tear jerking music video that apparently is about virginia tech. the song is outside by staind
Staind are depressing anyway ugh.
I did think about what you said, thats why I pointed out how stupid it was. I never bashed you as a person, I bashed what you said, because it needed bashing. Perhaps you should practice "actually think[ing] about it."Quote:

Regardless to whatever you think, you missed my point. And you bashed my post. Maybe I think what you say is stupid, but instead of being a rude, ignorant **** I will argue your point in a polite manner.Quote:

I see no further reasons to baffle you about this, so continue to think whatever you want.
Is it just me, or is calling someone a "rude, ignorant ****" kind of rude and post-bashy?Quote:

I couldn't have said it better myself.
No need to defend something that isn't in any real danger.
After reading that "boyfriend cant get over my past" thread I have to say I kind of don't get bothered by this shooting anymore.

That's what I meant about the ****ed-up comment O.V.
