Alaska is eventually going to be drilled, either in the next 10 years or the next 40 years
Personally, I don't want to see it drilled until other oil reserves are used up
I want gas prices to keep rising, I would actually be very happy to see prices hit $9 or $10 a gallon because it will put the pressure on us to finally get serious about alternative energies. The thing about alternative energies is that it doesn't completely matter if the technology is all there or not, because it will take a national effort to replace gas stations with places to charge your car, and build a bunch of nuclear power plants
And then, at that point can we drill Alaska to ease the transition a little more slowly to alternative energies
The thing I really don't like about a lot of the Democrats is that they don't want to drill Alaska, but also don't want to build nuclear power plants, which is the answer. 1 way in which France is a great example to us is their energy. When the Middle East held them hostage with oil, unlike us, they built a bunch of nuclear power plants and now they are completely energy independent if I recall
Mayor Bloomberg for instance is mentally retarded. He wanted to put a windmill on every bridge or whatever in NY to generate power. What a fuccking RETARD, does he understand how impossible it would be to maintain structures like that built all over the damn place? Put them all in 1 fuccking place! Maybe we should all wear hats with little propellers at the top so we can generate out own individual energy too?
i agree i think it's time to look into something else.
you know that humans crossed the berring strait without cars. i'm pretty sure we can get by with less.
we can get by with less car dealers too. little evil demons they are.
My school use to have a department of nuclear engineering but got rid of it like 20 or 30 years ago. I want them to bring it back
1 of my friends dad from home was a nuclear engineer, I think he went to the US Naval Academy

I disagree. I think she's political gold. She was a brilliant choice for McCain, and I'm now worried about this election for the first time. Most of America is ready to embrace someone who makes them feel comfortable, like even they could become President someday if some overbreeding PTA hockey mom with 80's hair could do it. Look at George Bush, for crissakes. Clearly, half of us we don't want someone we can look up to.Quote:

I don't know where some of you people are living, but gas prices near here have been dropping.
Also, drilling for oil doesn't have to get in the way of humans to be wrong. I'll consider anyone who says otherwise likely to kill puppies in the near future.
My main Palin objection for the moment is that she doesn't want to give support to teenagers who end up pregnant. People can say what they want about abortion itself, but for someone who's telling girls to keep the babies, taking away the opportunity for a stable life just seems cruel.
I'm totally skipping classes on election day so I can go vote Obama.
As for lowering gas prices even more, if I recall, wasn't it the Republicans currently in office who said no to using what we've got to help out? And doesn't McCain <3 them with all his being?
I don't want another Bush, thanks.
I hate politics.
Gas prices have been dropping here as well. They were $4 about a month and a half ago and are hovering between $3.45-$3.60 now. But I don't care if they drop to $3.00... it's still more than I want to pay.
I remember when people were bitching and moaning when gas rose to $1.50.
$3.45 to $3.60? I hope I never live where you do. Last gas station I looked at was $3.17.
Also, I'm trying to figure out what movie McCain's face makes me think of. Batman ('89) comes to mind.
Hell, even at the range I mentioned we're still below the national average which is $3.66.Quote:

It shows Houston as having the lowest gas prices at $3.45. If you found a station with gas at $3.17, you should fill up every possible tank, can, etc.. you can find.
Eh, I'm a carless college student, what do I use gas for anyway. ('course it also means that the number I gave you was from a small-town station a month ago, haha. Haven't been near one since.)
Gas isn't going to go back down for any substantial period of time again. It's time for something else
Btw, gas here has been around $3.85 a gallon. When I went to Michigan, gas prices in western NY were around $3.85 a gallon but $3.60 in western Michigan
For the record, I'd just like to state that I would bone Sarah Palin. I'll be her Monica.
I remember that! Back then, and now still, I wanted to strangle every single stupid motherfuccker who thought $1.50 a gallon was the end of the world. I remember commenting to my parents about those people "Hey, gas could be a lot more expensive than that like in Europe, these people should stfu"Quote:

I don't mind gas prices as much now that I downgraded my vehicle. I don't have to drive as much and I'm getting about 30 mpg so I'm not as irritated. Before, I drove an SUV that got about 16 mpg. It would cost be about $60 to fill up, though definitely a lot more now.... probably closer to $70 or $75, and I had to fill up at least once per week.Quote:

I won't vote for Obama because he's black and because he's too socialist.
Ron Paul for president.
Hold up, did you seriously just say you wouldn't vote for him because he's black?
Hold up.Quote:

Just like people wanted to vote for Hilary because she's a woman.Quote:

Just like people will vote for Obama or McCain simply because they are either a Republican or Democrat voting along party lines.
Just like people will vote for McCain because Palin is a MILF.
Just like people won't vote for Obama because he was/is a Muslim.
The fact that people are willing to vote based on bullshit reasons and not based on the politics is the exact reason we've had a shitty leader for the last two elections.
You're a racist.Quote:

Everyone else is a minority.
i dont think anyones vote actually counts anyway...look what happened and a private company owns the voting machines
No.Quote:

This way, I can get a free ride.
cain i gather from ur response that u dont believe my comment...its scary but FACT: ES&S and Diebold...and as we all kno computers can be tampered with especially by the people that created them...how do u think strange things happen in American politics...like Bush getting president the first time...

Bush won the count in Florida. Al Gore requested recounts. Since Bush won Florida, he had the most electoral votes and therefore won even though Al Gore had the popular vote.
It doesn't matter that private companies own the machines that are used at the polling stations. I'm pretty sure that the private companies aren't sitting their late at night after the polls close adding votes or taking away votes so they can get a certain person into office.
You're not even American so you shouldn't be in this thread anyways.
