for the record, i would consider everyone's advice on the forums, but i wouldn't necessarily take it. then again, i never ask anything related to love so who am i kidding..??

I try to teach ugly men that you do not have to like all women and that women are not perfect like society (and most women) would lead you to believe. They have massive faults and are just as stupid and mean as men.
I voted B but I also think that from time to time, people do take some of the advice given. I think the majority of people that come and post with problems are looking for a sounding stone, variety of opinions or validation of their own actions/thoughts.
I TAKE YOUR ADVICES! :)
I got help here for my current bf :D In the beginning I had a major crush on an online guy I met a couple times with, but then someone i liked in real life asked me out. so i asked for help here and people commented and was like "he's just an online guy, the real thing is better" and whatever.. it was a long time ago... so cant remember it much. but yeah!
♥ THANKYOU PEOPLE! for helping me and other love-noobs like me :)
Does "All of the above" count?
It depends really. Some will look for advice and use it, some will look for advice but go do what they decide, while some look for advice and don't even look at the advice that people have given them.
I have taken advice and followed through with it.
Most of the time it's them whining because we don't tell them what they WANT to hear.
Oh yes, my bad, your cheating boyfriend is NOT a sack of shit, and I apologize for the offense. You should definitely give him another chance, he'll probably never do it again.
i've had some really valuable advice from our peeps off forum as well.
I like the ones where they go:Quote:

"How dare you accuse ME of cheating!!! I did no such thing! I merely slept with one person while in a relationship with someone else. You obviously get high from judging other people! How dare you judge me??? You, some internet person? You think you know my life? You don't know anything!!!"
Same here.Quote:

Yeah, then you wonder why the hell they posted on an INTERNET forum in the first place. Go cry to your momma, biotch.Quote:

They post on an internet forum because they want a confirmation from random strangers that what they do is okay and it's totally cool. Like:Quote:

"Sure you slept with someone while in a relationship, but it's not really a big deal, don't be so hard on yourself, it happens to everyone. It was probably an accident anyway, you just fell down inside her repeatedly. Your wife should understand this if she's not a complete heartless bitch that is."
I don't think people follow the advice of this forum I think they come here to whine
I believe by in large, people come here to get validated. People want other people to confirm they are "right," and don't realize they instead get our honest opinions.
I have followed through with others advice from here. I had another username a while back, uncertain777, who other users told me to break up with my girlfriend, and well.. I did. Its hard to take that leap of faith from seemingly anonymous advice.
Like I told my mom today, I wasn't willing to listen to my family when it came to my relationship problems, because I knew they were being too 'nice' when giving their opinions. I came to LF to have some outside perspective; total strangers who could look at my situation and tell me to get my shit together. THAT was what I needed to hear. It worked.
