It's over-rated to be honest bro. You're only obsessed because you've never done it. After like a 1000 times, it's boring as a mother****er.

Yeah, that's why sex isn't my priority in life.
I still like it.Quote:

LOL. It's easy for those who've had it to talk about it being overrated.
It's never a good idea to base your happiness on only one thing. Cuz when that one thing is gone or in decline, everything else goes south as well. If you have multiple sources of happiness, the others can hold you up when one hits the skids. You sound like you have the "white whale" syndrome. You have one goal that is way out of proportion to everything else.Quote:

I heard that Celexa is very effective, and a side effect is weight gain. Don't worry, you can attract a girl. Look at some of the douchebags on here who claim to have done it. If they can, you certainly can. You just need to get over your depression and fear. Good luck to you.
I'm kind of embarrassed to see someone about that: Dad is Mexican, and Mexico doesn't believe in mental problems, emotions or seeing psychologists.
Yeah, it is pretty bad to center one's world around one thing and it could end like you said. But I just had one awesome relationship, I'd be happy the rest of my life without another.
No, you wouldn't. People generally fare better when they care for someone else, because love adds meaning to life. So you love, you get your heart broken, and you try to love again. It's part of the human condition.Quote:

Not me. Just one real awesome a relationship is all I really want and if it ended, well, I'd take solace in the fact I actually got to HAVE ONE.
You really can't talk about what you'd settle with and how you'd be fine and take solace in until you've actually experienced what you're talking about. Then and only then can you say what you're saying as a past tense. I came, I did, I... (remains up in the air at this point)
I'm extremely certain that I wouldn't get greedy and ask for more. The only relationship I've been in was a joke so I'd like to experience the real thing just once. And then I'd quit with the moping.
You expect us to believe that after all these threads you've started and your perceived miserable plight in life? You don't even believe it but you are trying to convince yourself ~ without much success I might add. If you truly believed that (which you state the above post) you wouldn't continue on in your self-abasement, or in your blame of women and how shallow they are in their own choices by choosing men who are (in your view) trash. You have an excuse for every reason in the world why you shouldn't just be social in real life.
You have a good sense of humour. I suggest you learn to use it in actual social situations and when you see how it affects the masses, your confidence will improve and then you'll see for yourself that, yes, confidence is indeed sexy.
I just don't know how to magically summon up confidence: it isn't causa sui, I can't just create it out of nothing. Something has to happen before I can be confident.
Get out there and mingle. You've been told this countless times. Here: Use this site: www.meetmarketadventures.com and start doing things that will put you in the company of single women AND men (friends are good to have).
Well, get over your embarrassment. You need more help than you can get on a forum. There is no shame in having a problem, only in not doing something about it. You admit you have a problem. You say you are open to advice. Well, advice is useless if you don't do something with it. Just drop by the campus clinic and ask to talk to somebody. There's no harm in talking to someone, right?Quote:

As for the awesome relationship thing, that is just what other people have. Relationships are hard work. They are full of doubts. They are full of disappointment. They often end for little or no reason. It's a lot like getting a job. Everyone wants the dream job, but few people actually get it. Eventually you find one you are comfortable with and you stick with it. There are no guarantees in life. But if you don't try, your chances are very small that you will get anywhere. You are not ready for a relationship. You are in poor health, mental health. You gotta fix that first, and it isn't hard to do, but you need to get some help. Of course, you don't think you are attractive. Would you be attracted to someone like yourself? If not, get to work and fix what ails you.
This thread reminds me of this commercial.

Confidence is both important and sexy. Not talking about arrogance though because that is a turnoff. Confidence is very important for a relationship to function. I mean, I really despise a guy who is always down and always making silly excuses for not doing things. Don't want a project boyfriend. I want a go-getter.
I think where HE lives, meetup.com would be a better resource. That's where I found my target-shooting trip.Quote:

Way ahead of you, Vash: I check meetup.com about twice a week. Nothing matches my interest, sadly..
That was so cool, funny and relevant! Bruce Campbell wasn't looking so good in that commercial, though. The hell happened to him?Quote:

I know.... I wish I were a big hiker. There are about a million hiking groups. I like casual hiking, but I'm scared they will leave me in the dust.Quote:

I have a friend who is big on cycling. If you check with your local bike shops, I am sure you can find a group of cyclists.
What the hell? He looks okay to me. I think you're blind when it comes to what is and isn't attractive. He's still got that incredible sense of humour which makes him a hotty, still. He's not 29 anymore, dude.Quote:

LOL, I looked at the hiking but they're mostly composed of a demographic that I just don't relate to which figures: the only folk who seem to be regularly hiking in So.Cal are the retired.
Biking interests me but I get the sense biking enthusiasts are real snobs. Scares me.
LOL. Well, of course I'm a DUDE so I'm not going to say "Yeah, he's still hot." But that barely looked like classic Bruce Campbell (aka the star of the only actual good thing he did beyond voice cameos for the Playstation "Spider-man" games)/Quote:

What are you worried about? Are you riding your sister's bike, or something?Quote:

The bicyclists I know are very nice, though I am sure there are assholes mixed in there. How much riding do you do?
Pathetic? Debatable. Twat? No.
I just don't have one of those brand name bikes or the gay suits they wear. I bike a lot and starting next semester, I've decided to bike to school which is 13 miles away.Quote:

hmm.. I would have said "I'm neither." You really do have stop making excuses for yourself while you judge people you've not even met or associated with. Why not try it and if it's not for you or the people who are already joined are'nt your cup of tea then simply don't go back? Stop being 13.
do you wear the shoes that buckle into the bike?
Yes, but I think I'm a little more honest and open to criticizing myself.
I haven't the foggiest what that is..Quote:

Why don't you START a meetup group for casual bike riders, 20-30 yrs old?
That's not a bad idea.
Yea, but will you do it?Quote:

Hardly, you're just more likely to be self-deprecating which is NOT a good trait.Quote:

I'll look into it. The last few times I tried organizing things, nobody showed up. I wanted to have a cool party for my 19th, sent out invitations to all my friends: Only 3 friends showed up, none of whom were the guys I regularly hung out with. :(Quote:

Nothing negative is any better than something else just as negative. Surely after people telling you how negative your are you can now understand that nothing you think is better is actually better as you think.
Planning a party requires some knowledge about how to do it. Turn-outs to birthday parties in your age group is often quite low. Next time, ask someone older (who knows how to entertain) for some help.Quote:

There won't be a next time. Looking back at the few bday parties I ever wanted to have, my dad had more friends at my own "parties" than I did (in fact, I don't think I ever HAD any friends over for those parties)..
