No. I said I think free medical care from the government is stupid, as I do not like big government, not want to lean on the government for such things. But I guess even within milies apart views on such things can differ so greatly.Quote:
What are you trying to sell me on here anyways? The 'greatness' of the good ole USA? I told you, I've been there dozens of times.
Your funny because you assume when you should not. Yes most Americans (I find it funny you use such a word when Canadains are Americans as well) have never been to Canada. I have been to Canada 4 times. Once to change planes in Qubeec, 2 times by car seeing the sights when I was in New England as kid (in the fall when the trees are chaning their leafs), and the 4th time was when I visted Glacical Park.Quote:
You ever been to Canada? Most Americans haven't.....but they all seem to have an 'opinion' based on what the media tells them. You can keep it. At least I can travel the world with my flag emblazoned all over me without people wanting to punch me in the face.
And no one in New Zeland I meet (I went there in 2006 by the way), wanted to punch me or my dad. The same thing happen when we went to Austrilia in 2004. And my dad said people where nice as heck to him when he went to Great Britain in 2005. People pretty much around the world can seprate government from the people it governs. Meaning that just because I live in an unpopular contry due to my stupid ass government, does not mean I am a bad person nor do I support my current government and all of the actions it takes or don't take.
The funny thing is that even tho how bad of an image the US has world wide, people still want to come over here and make a new life for them self and/or their family. So I guess you need to vist other countries and read up on media from other coutries
Another thing. I bearly read main stream media from the US. If you notice the site where I got the news article from is not a main stream media. So my opinion is not based upon on the main stream media in the US, but from out side media.
So does the US. I am not trying to change your mind, but more point out that you say your standards of living is higher than ours when I don't think so. Ya you have free health care whoopy do. I don't want such a thing here. I am all for cheap health inusrance, even offered by the government, but not free health care. Because someone has to pay for it, and with all of the illegal aliens about and how many companies (majority of US hospitals are run by companies) in the US are doing unethical things, as well as our own government it will only lead to scandels and other problemsQuote:
Not gonna change my mind, no matter what articles you google up for me. Canada kicks ass!
But I am sure there are other things that shows your standard of living is higher than ours right? Because it be pretty sad if it was just free health care and clean cities that make your living standards higher than ours. Yes our cities may not be clean like yours, but overall we have more buying power than you guys which means we can afford more things, which you can say making out living standard of lving higher. Yes we got people who can not afford health insurance and other social problems, but I am sure Canada has its own social problems.
