UPDATE!!!
OK so last night we met up for dinner and theatre. (Was it a date, I dunno... I guess so). I was pretty nervous beforehand cos I was thinking whether he was gonna be a bit distant again, and whether I would have to bring up the issue of "whats going on here" etc etc. I was braced for the worst LOL, as they say... expect the worst and then anything else is a bonus haha. I made an extra effort with my appearance for last night and luckily I was feeling quite confident in my self.
Well....the good news is that the evening went well and I felt very relaxed and happy with him. He was really impressed with my choice of restaurant (the food was excellent), and also he thoroughly enjoyed the show at the theatre. (Yay...) Also there was much more eye contact and smiles than 2 weeks ago (when we'd had 'the chat' and when he said that we should take two steps back). Bad news was that there still wasn't any physical touch :-( Booooo.
HOWEVER, we did end up having an indepth conversation all about our sexual fantasies and fetishes. *Raise Eyebrow* He also said that he wants to pose naked for me so I can draw him / paint him (I'm an artist by the way) except he said "but not for another two months, until my gym sessions have paid off and I'm in good shape" (well personally I think his body is perfect already so I dunno what he's on about).
When we said goodbye he gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek, not on lips :-(
He asked me if I want to come out to a party next Friday, with him and some of his mates. He texted me later that evening to say "I had a really great time tonight." Then he texted me again this morning (I had a job interview) to say "Good luck for the interview, give it everything you got, hope it goes well."
So basically, last night went well and I got a good vibe, but I am still confused...! My gut instinct is that he genuinely does have feelings for me and genuinely does want to take things slow. But I don't understand why he's holding back with something as simple as a kiss on the lips.
Guys what do you think? After everything we said, sharing sexual fantasies and him saying he wants to pose naked for me, does this mean he is still interested in me on a sexual level, or at least potentially? Or is this something a guy would say if he was 'just platonic' with a girl (i.e. not interested in her sexually or romantically).
Would he say these things if he wasn't interested in me?

He just may be by shy or worried that you might not feel the same way in return.
It's slightly confusing how he was talking sexual fantasies (that's usually a touchy subject) and yet, he hasn't kissed you? He's interested in, otherwise why would have he have sent those messages? He likes you ;)
Just take things slow and see how they turn out :)
