Wow, it's amazing how quickly you were able to get Gribble all figured out. :DQuote:

He's really got me pegged, huh Vash? We got us a regular Sherlock ****ing Holmes. Chimmie, I tip my hat to you.
In all seriousness, 'Sombra, no I have never had anyone break into my car or my home. However, I did live in a bad neighborhood at one point. Kids did drugs in the playground, a neighbor was carjacked right outside my door, cousin got stabbed with a screwdriver, and a car was broken into and stolen out from under my window. (Funny story there)
My parents live in Talbot county. A suburb straight out of Leave it to Beaver. Except for the rampant drug problem, of course. Drugs everywhere. You drive about a block and a half from the paradise my mom lives at and you see a bunch of minorities on the streets, drinking, doing drugs, offering to steal.
So I'm no stranger to it. Those areas probably aren't as bad as the stuff you deal with, but it's there. I know it's a problem. I just feel that it could be solved better by hiring cops to hunt down violent criminals rather than potheads. I think that maybe crackheads wouldn't be breaking into houses and cars if they could commit themselves to a clinic and have all the narcotics they could ever want.
Anyway, I'm out. There's a worm in a bottle calling my name.
Damn man, this thread is still going?

i don't like all that seriousness. let's mess around again.
There is a sign on the emergency room doors at the hospital I am working in that says "demerol-free zone" to keep the junkies away. Apparently they will do ANYTHING to get their fix, including robbing the emergency room.Quote:

I agree with Chimeros. Funny thing is that one of the things these shooters try to accomplish by this is to make the civilians more paranoid about anything and everything...seems to be working well. We get rid of guns and these guys will just run people over on the school parking lots, you people seriously have no imagination of killing...probably a good thing. A kid on a school parking lot in Poland ran over 16 people killing them before he was gunned down in the car while still moving....how about that..the gun saves the day and the car is a weapon...but I guess it wasn't the car eh? Second of all those arguing that guns were created to make killing people easier are wrong...they were made to kill easier...but not people. Gun powder was used for hunting first and fire mainly.
I bet that's a fairly common scenario. Thank god for guns, right?Quote:

Not really, but if you are going to get rid one then why not both right? Hell, why not walk around naked fearing any pointy and noisy object?Quote:

Oh F*ck!
Patooie! Patooie! Patooooooie!
Sorry folks, kinda made the bubble mix go into my mouth...
*Wipes his tongue on most of the furniture to get rid of the taste*
Hmmm, the taste of this artificial leather kinda reminds me of something...
Right o,back to the norm...
( Done ass per Misombra's request )
I was wondering about something LoveTwist said in his last post...
The future...
Got me thinking...
What sort of destructive things will be created in the future to replace guns?
Because if we look at history: Stick - Knife - Sword - Guns - ???
I know that wasn't a complete lesson, but I wonder what the future has in store...
I hope its Plasma Rifles & Hand Held Rocket Launchers ;3...
We might need to make a new thread for that one...
I think the nuke is pretty much the end, cause when that shit goes off ain't none of our bitch asses going home.
No shit. But the point is they were made to make KILLING easier. The fact that they were originally designed for hunting only makes them better still for killing people too.Quote:

If they were originally designed for shooting down sprightly deer with lightening quick reactions, then what chance do modern day slow mo humans have? And I’m not arguing for stricter gun control in America anymore. I confessed I was wrong on that. I’m simply pointing out the obvious.
You can strangle people with your bare hands too.. so why not go the whole hog and cut peoples arms off as well. And even then they could still kick people to death so better remove their legs too.Quote:

* Laser guns like the phasers seen in Star Trek,
* Plasma guns like in Halo,
* Lightsabers like in Star Wars, or something that we haven’t even come close to imagining yet?
Seems that Sci-fi shows usually show us the way forward when it comes to these things (communicators in Star Trek to mobile phones, touch screen computers, holographic computer worlds, etc) so I’m guessing the futuristic weapons will be something it bit like a phaser or a pulse rifle.
What about the Needler, that was pretty awesome. Works long rage and can be used to seek out its target even when it moves out of the line of fire. I doubt it'll end up with us all walkingaround with rocket launchers though, if that happended I don't think many people would be around long enough to tell their kids about it.
have you heard of the taser. cops use that shit all the time. they're actually quite abusive about it.
Oh yeah,my personal favorite is the air taser...
*POP*,*Zoooom*,*ZAP*!
A perfect item for the collector.
But I wonder...
If any of you have read Dan Brown's "Angels & Demons",you would have heard of a wonderful thing called antimatter.
For those who haven't read it,here's a brief summary:
Material that is opposite to everything & wipes out everything that it comes into contact with.Even air.
It can be the size of a BB pellet & take out a small town.
It also gives unlimited energy according to the fact that it is made from "nothing".
For every micro milligram its potential force increases possibly ten fold.
As unbelievable as this thing may sound, scientists are actually working on it.
The potential for infinite clean energy is one of the driving forces of science.
Of course,if anything goes wrong,we are all dead anyway...
If we all use our imaginations, would a Nuke really be that useful in comparison to Antimatter?
You could use a normal missile full & take out half a con tenant...
Yummy...
Because cars have a purpose other than killing.Quote:

And future weapons? They aren't going to be using lazers anytime soon. Right now, the military is developing a 'pain gun' that causes all your muscles to spasm. That'll probably be the first future weapon.
guns have a purpose other than shooting. you can also knock people out with it.
I read a few years back that the military was developing a vehicle-mounted laser weapon capable of blinding. Naturally people were up in arms about it. Such a weapon would be inhumane! Better to kill with rifles and bombs than blind, apparently.
TDurden, I think your a little behind on the times.
Your "Pain Gun" is called a "Taser".
A device that electrocutes the victims nerves & muscles into submission...
It is really effective,as no individual can withstand a few thousand volts of electricity & still stand.
Actually, I wouldn't go so far as to call it really effective. It's good, sure. But you only get one shot and both probes must hit. If the target is wearing thick or baggy clothes you're out of luck. Tasers aren't the best choice for self-defense. A blackjack, now there's a good defensive weapon.
Plus I think TDurden is referring to this: [url]http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn7077[/url] which, interestingly enough, is also being protested against. Apparently inflicting debilitating but temporary pain is immoral. Shooting people in the chest, blowing them up with grenades, slashing their throats with combat knives, those are all okay.
*LOL*
Read the article...
I always find it weird that they do these sort of protests.
Torture Vs Humane Chaos Control...
We say Torture wins...
Don't argue,it's cruel to force assholes to obey the law like everyone else. They have special needs...
*LOL*
I wonder how the Taser ever got legalized to begin with...
Perhaps that's why they don't improve its capabilities...

"Must the probes penetrate the body to be effective?
No. The electrical current will “jump” up to 2 inches as long as both probes are attached to clothing or skin. At most, only the 3/8-inch needlepoint will penetrate the skin. Both probes need to be within a cumulative 2 inches of the body to stop an attacker (e.g. if one probe is touching, the other can be up to 2 inches away, or each probe can be one inch away – the total spark distance is a maximum of 2 inches for both probes together)."
Shocking stuff...

I think they are ALL immoral. Besides, the objection is that this sort of weapon can cause permanent damage to a person's nervous system. I don't trust people to be able to handle weapons like this responsibly. Haven't you seen what our local police depatment does to *reporters*, nevermind actual criminals?? We have enough weapons to hurt people with. Rubber bullets and stun guns do the job.
the cops have to use a lot more discretion when using a gun. with tasers they use the fact that they can't really hurt them (something that is still being debated) to their full advantage. when using a gun an officer has to first rule out other ways of restraining a person or controlling a situation.Quote:

The point is: They are trying to make a weapon that doesn't do permanent damage, but can incapacitate from a good distance away.
Think crowd control.
I think the cops enjoy getting up close and personal with the crowd. It's more fun to terrorize them that way.
*LOL*
I would like to beat the crap out of a random unknown individual too, if he was making my job & life that much harder...
Truth is cops keep all their love bottled up...
When they get personal with a crowd, they can share the love...
Let it out...
& rack up a hell of a lot of lawsuits...
That is exactly what I was referring to.Quote:

Usually when I turn on the news and see the police trying to disperse a crowd, it is because they are having molotov cocktails and bricks thrown at them. At least here in the US. Of course, things are different in Russia and China (I presume, I have never been to either).
And being a police officer is not fun. Most of the time, you are babysitting social degenerates and responding to petty calls (i.e. little league drug dealing, drunkards, domestic abuse calls, vandalism). And police never get the chance to bust big criminals. That's reserved for the DEA, FBI, or BATF. Cops just keep society clean in general and prevent thugs from robbing little old ladies.
And no amount of gun restrictions will ever prevent a psycho from going on a massacre. Ignore the 250 million guns already here in the US. They will keep coming in (illegaly) through the border. It can't be stopped.
Furthermore, just about anybody with computer access and a couple of braincells could find some easy to follow recipe online for making explosives. But this is mostly done by the k3wls. I don't think a bombing would give a violent psycho the satisfaction he would get from personally gunning down his victims.

True, but that is their job. They know it when they sign up. I think this type of work attracts particular types for a reason. (Actually, I *know* it since my husband works in that field.)
Anyway, lots of little old ladies are still getting robbed, which probably fuels the frustration of the cops making them more prone to lash out inappropriately on occassion.
BTW - there aren't too many molotav cocktails or bricks being thrown at cops in LA, although they *are* shot at on occassion.
vashhhhh is a cop lover.
Neither lover nor hater...
i feel like this about it...
[Dear Guest/Member you have to reply to see the link.click here to register]
well... hang on i think i have to change something...
[Dear Guest/Member you have to reply to see the link.click here to register]
that's more like it.
What about the fat cops...oh wait...that is most pf them. I still say Miso your box for good people and cops is to big.
okay final draft lol.
[Dear Guest/Member you have to reply to see the link.click here to register]
That is a bit better, thank you.
Love the drawings :)
Finally someone with the same amount of artistic ability as myself :)
Yay,now we are talking about reject cops...
We have too many of those here to.
Our most recent news broadcast actually shows how our SAPS ( South African Police Service ) totally messed up a robbery investigation by tampering with the crime scene.
It may also be that these police helped out with the robbery as the robbers knew everything except the fact that there were cameras...
Even the safes combination...
Happened to Home Affairs in Kaiyletchia I think...
*LOL*
