Good question. I think it will depend on defenitions of both Flirter and Flirtee. My thoughts on this interesting trait of modern social science:The Flirter, initiates the flirt with a subconscious intention of making the flirtee feeling good about him/herself to a. Make her/him more approachable b. Break the ice c. Create a friendly environment for post flirting activities. Flirtee as the recipient of the flirt has a choice to return the flirt to aknowledge the reciept of interest and the aboundance of such in the originator or dismiss the flirt in order to distance him/herself from the flirter. It has been understood that the sharing of the flirt indicates the first stages of interaction between potential couples and if applied successfuly can also lead to successful mating.
Contiual overuse of the flirt however can have a negative impact on the initiator, creating a perception of a player. For these purposes, some of the tools at flirters disposal capable of masking the flirt from recongnition and enabling to cast flirt deception is humour. Thus, in the hands of a skilled Flirtlitarian an unsuccessful flirt becomes a humourous joke and a successful flirt becomes a catalyst for post flirting activites.
My 2 Cents :)
Its a playful behavior intended to arouse sexual interest, or close to it! :)Quote:
