There's that word I couldn't find earlier.. hah! Yes empathy... offers further understanding of those around you if you can 'put yourself in their shoes.' I have noticed that too... those without a sense of humor seem to be more self-absorbed. I guess having a sense of humor means you have to understand people a little better... perhaps from trial and error of what those around you find funny?

My humour tends toward Monty Python and the cynical. I'm not sure I'm the best source for what is commonly funny. ;)

I actually didn't learn this...my exes and past dates...they were always uptight, snoooty men........which as you can tell never lasted long. This guy is actually the first one I've met who actuall does things like this, well other than my brother...but that's my brother

Way to accuse someone without even knowing the person...I didn't wanna "Bitch" about how men are like robots cause I don't even knwo what you mean by that statement.

All I wanted to know is why some men or all or most men do that...that's about it...calm down...this is supposed to be a helpful site not a site to make people feel bad.

Some people do those things just to brighten your day. If they see that you may be expressing yourself as if you are sad, etc they may joke around with you to get you to smile.

Others do it because they like you and want to see your response. Your response to them will show whether you like them or not. Then they can go to the next step of asking you out, etc.

I am wondering whether you truly like him. When he does those things do you accept the behavior or do you kind of move away from him? The way you describe him makes it sound like you two are not really compatible. You may like him but the attraction doesn't sound very strong to me.

It depends on when/what he does......most of the time though when he does something playful I giggle or blush or etc.

who doesn't like a person who can poke fun at themselves and you. it's the best part of life, if it makes you laugh then it's all good, if it doesn't then you have a different sense of humour. i like both sarcastic and playful humour. my dad is the perfect example. imo it actually shows maturity ( that life is not that serious) and intelligence and my dad has got worse with age, he's much funnier now that he's semi retired than he ever was.
