He's ignoring me

Okay so my boyfriend (or ex, I don't know yet), has just decided to ignore everything from me all weekend. I last talked to him Thursday and he said he would call Friday, but never did. I called him several times on Fri, Sat, and once on Sun and sent text messages because I was worried about him; he's never done anything like this before. We haven't had the easiest relationship...he's bipolar and he's broken up with me twice before but he always comes crawling back and acts like everything is okay. I have written him emails and he won't answer them. I know he is okay because I saw him logged onto facebook yesterday, and he won't respond over that either. I haven't stopped by his house because I really don't want to get hurt anymore. What is going on here??? Pleas help me, I can't think about anything else.

I don't know anything about Bi-polar disorder, but from what I've read on here previously, it seems you've got to find a way to deal with it. Either that, or respect the fact that it's too much for you to handle, and walk away. There's no crime in that. Sometimes you have to do what's best for you

The Bi-polar may account for why he dumps you and crawls back..I can understand this because when I was a teenager my bp was chronic and my life decisions basically mimicked my outrageous mood swings.

I wouldn't pester him with so many calls, texts..and what not. Just emphatically let him know once that you love him unconditionally and leave it at that.

Disorder or no disorder, a person has to learn via cosequances of his own actions. I don't know what was so dramatic that made him act this way, but it looks to me like he is taking advantage of you because he always knows that worst comes to worst he can dump you and you will take him back. Stop feeding his ego and show him you are a real person who gets hurt by his ignorance and you are through with taking it....

Thanks guys. I appreciate your advice. I'm not letting him walk all over me anymore, but he won't even respond to me. I wrote him an email saying I wanted to know what was going on, and all he said was he wrote me a text and to check if I got it, which I didn't. I am giving him space, I haven't tried to contact him at all besides that email recently, but I expect some sort of answer. After I get it, I'm outta here.

DId anything happen prior to him ignoring you? I know you don't need a reason to flip like that with that disorder but I was just curious. Bi-polar is hard to handle for anyone but that's who he is, and if you can't handle that, then I think you need to find someone else like you said.

I think mini means that it is the mental health crisis of the year, just like ADD/ADHD was the mental health crisis of last year, and OCD before that, etc... People are diagnosed with it so frequently that it tends to become "cool" to have it, and everyone wants it.

I don't think I know anyone bi-polar, though, so I don't personally know if this is true...

I used to know a couple people that were Bi-polar but do not know anyone now with that disorder. Although, I have been hearing a lot more people on here saying they are dating someone that is Bi-polar. I don't think people are really understanding what it is when they get involved with soemone. Not saying you should stay away from someone if they have it, but at least understand the issue to know how to handle and coupe with it before getting too involved with soemone.

Yep thats what I meant... Its the new 'trendy' mental disorder. Every relationship forum I read seems to have a lot of people blaming disorders or problems on Bi-polar lately.

I am in no way saying this person doesn't have it though. Its only an observation.

I'm sure a lot of them aren't bi-polar and they're actually just really moody.

As crazy as that post is Mish, I think it would be pretty hard to fake being Bi-Polar, I mean you could but it's such a crazy disorder it would be really hard.

It's just manic depression. I'm sure a lot of disorders could be faked, but then you would probably have a disorder that would make you even want to pretend you had some other disorder! Craziness! :D

i knew one person who had bpd. she would get depressed and not talk to anybody or leave her house, sometimes her own room, sometimes her own bed, for weeks. then she would go through another phase of being REALLY happy, spending money, having sex, etc... it was weird.

Yeah, it would suck having no middle ground. Always being one extreme or the other.
