Those poor lizards.
Jeez, what a creepy 7 year old. I feel sorry for his parents... the boy is probably a future serial killer.
How terrible.
Of course it is all about the money isn't it?
No one said it was, not even the article. Just because they mention the cost to them doesn't make the story center around it. They spent more time talking about how they can't prosecute the boy but will try his parents instead, and they spent more time talking about other thingsQuote:

Anyways feeding an animal to a crocodile is more normal than smashing a lizzards head with a rock
I agree. I was more disgusted that the kid could physically bludgeon an animal to death. It's horrible.
wheretf were the parents who are responsible for the child? i agree with the law that children should not be held accountable under the age of 10. This child is messed up because of the parents. where were they?? a 7yr old should not be able to wander around on their own it was before the zoo hours. The parents need to be held responsible. chances are this child is already fcuked up for life coz of crappy parents.
fact is the feeding the animals to the croc is not that shocking since we've all seen crocs being fed, the child was playing a game, the game he saw adults play. Thats what kids do, mimic adults
I think this little monster needs to go through some serious therapy and parents heavily fined.
I wonder where were the zoo keepers and the security who were supposed to be monitoring the cameras.
I don't think that zoos are exactly priority targets for burglars.
well you could almost say the same for art galleries, it depends on the burglars taste, some of the animals would be rare and worth a lot of money.Quote:

The zoos in Oz are weird. They let wild animals (like huge bears) lick porridge off the hands of little kids.
Porridge with just a hint of human flavoring. How lovely.
So how will you defend against him bashing lizards head's with rocks?Quote:

One day the zoo owners are going to open the gate in the morning and find a well fed Croc with what looks like a boy inside it.
it happens, some kids are crazy, altho some kids have crappy parents that don't teach them right from wrong and they end up doing things like this, it could be an over exaggeration by the media. i mean they said the kid had a blank face, who knows...maybe they want to make out he's a potential serial killer. The media have a tendancy to blow things up to something it wasn't. But what is true is that the parents were not looking after their 7 yr old child that early in the morning. they need to be fined indeed, but quite possibly checked out themselves for any kind of abuse or neglect.Quote:

The only sad part about that would be they would put the croc down.Quote:

millions of animals have been tortured legally for many many years and it has not been considered malicious for the sake of money. this instance was malicious but it was also from a child who needs help.Quote:

There's a fairly big difference between a seven year old bashing a lizard's brain in with a rock and a scientist injecting a lab rat with a vaccine that could potentially save human lives.
what about hunting for fun? done for years, not for survival but fun. it's the same thing the child did imo. i do have sympathy for the child that most likely has been brought up wrong and has now been branded a monster or serial killer by the media. I would put sympathy for him ahead of sympathy for the animal.Quote:

it's like back in the olden days when people enjoyed watching people hang. good point OV. sadistic enjoyment.
the kid never had a chance with the rest of the population. no-one gives a shit anymore.
I wouldn't enjoy it because it is gruesome, I would enjoy it because I already don't like the kid. Sounds like he is going to grow up into one awesome piece of shit anyways. That is right, no-one gives a shit anymore ...about other shit that is.Quote:

This child is twisted in the head. It's not like he didnt know what he was doing. He broke in the damn zoo! He knew what he was doing. I highly doubt he will grow up and do any better. He's already ****ed up in the head.
ye ladie he may well be twisted or he may not be (the media like to portray him as mental case...with their comment about the blank look on his face...this i find hard to believe)Quote:

the point is he's a 7yr old kid, with parents that weren't looking after him. kids mimic adult behavior. The parents are more likely to be more ****ed up in the head. this kid needs the media to be understanding rather than villify.... but its the famous media that manipulate the people who watch. thankfully its not like the US where kids are constantly tried in court as adults. this kid needs help and villifying him is NOT helpful. he will grow up into society that should embrace trying to make him a better person.

LOL.
Shit or get off the pot, darling.
i'm not a sheep, lick arse, sit on the fence, fake, generic insecure loser like a lot of people are. i say what i think, people can be sheep if they want to and keep on agreeing with the general consences through fear of exclusion or backlash or just plain idiocy. so be it. i don't tell anyone what to do, i pick at their conscience hopefully. i am what i am. i love meQuote:

I believe the child is mentally ill. The parents may not be. When I worked in adolescent psych, there were kids that were schizophrenic with normal parents. Not everything is learned behavior. I doubt the kid's parents were killing and torturing animals. It's actually pretty rare to find a kid that would do that, and it's a HUGE red flag for mental illness.
I don't believe in killing the mentally ill, but if they are dangerous, I do believe in locking them up for everyone else's safety.
I never had to "teach" my daughter that smashing living animals was wrong.Quote:

Giga wins.
that's way too specific. parents lead by example so they do teach their children whether parents realise or not. also kids learn how far they can go, if parents are not there to show, lead and protect.... or if they allow children to cross certain lines that are too far...well it can lead to examples like this kid. the media have blown this up based on the 'blank face' the kid 'supposedly' had.Quote:

However shh you could be right.....this is the lifetime argument....is it nurture or nature? I prefer to think it's a bit of both....but who knows if it's fair or justified to villify this kid. i prefer not to join in the argument against the kid and to point out the other possibilities.
it's so funny that winning is so important over there hahaQuote:

The "Holier-than-thou" syndrome
Great, he can go to school as he "recovers" with YOUR kids and not mine. If you feel that the parents are to blame I agree with that. Throw them to the Croc as well, two for one show. This isn't whether the animal's lives are worth more than his or not...this is about him being a danger to society. I wouldn't want my child in school to befriend someone like him at all. To the Croc he goes. I have little compassion for stupidity.Quote:

The media portrayed him as a mental case? So it was the media who made him go to the zoo? Did they make him feed the zoo animals to the crocs too? The boy is mentally ill because nobody in their right mind would first off break into the place, and secondly feed live zoo animals to a crocodile. This boy planned this in advance, he knew what he was doing. The boy needs therapy or something. I surely wouldnt want him around my daughter with his crazy ass. I'd have to kick the evil out his ass if he ****ed with her.Quote:

As for his parents, they dont have to be ****ed up in the head. Maybe there's other reasons, such as lack of love and attention, maybe that is why he is so crazy, because he has so much time on his hands to do such bullshit. How are we so sure he didnt sneak out his home though? The parents are being called out and they look like the bad ones but how are we so sure they even knew he was gone? Wasnt it in the morning? Maybe they were asleep. There are tons more possible reasons, so I'm not dwelling on blaming the parents cuz thats just the easy way out. I mean they do have to pay for their son's behavior, but Idk I think the parents didnt know, but hey that's just my opinion.
