My fiance cheated on me, But i still love her

So my fiance cheated on me last week when she said she was with friends. She told me today, i could not beleive that she would do this to me, we have been together for almost 3 years with a 1 year old son, and were getting married in 3 months. She told me that she does not know why. I could do nothing but cry, the thing is though, i still love her more than anything, she told me how she regret it and was sorry. I want to get passed what happened because we have been through so much, and i dont want this mistake to change it, but she wants us to sepperate for a month to try to grow and find our selves. She is now staying in our sons room. She even wants to try dating some one else once but i dont see how that will help. I love her and i want to be with her, but she doesnt want me to touch or tell her that, but in a month she wants us to go on a date, pretend that this is the first time we have ever gone out ad see if we can make it work. I will do anything to be with her, but i could use some edvice, im very cofused and dont kow what to do.

I realize you love this woman and you have a child with her but relationships are all about trust. Do you honestly believe knowing what you do you'll be able to trust her in the future?

If I were you as hard as this is to say I'd think about the possibility of your relationship coming to an end. I realize it's going to be hard but you have got to start doing whats best for you because to be quite honest I don't think she has your best interest in mind.

maybe the only difference between you and my bf is my bf does not love me the way you love your girl...

sorry to hear but its time to move on. You might be fine now but in the long run how can you live with someone that cheated on you. Just let it all go and move on.

Its easy for an outsider to say leave her. You both have a child together and that child is what you should be focusing on. I would not get married to her now. You do not want to make the wrong choice now and have your child grow up in an environment where you are both fighting, or questioning each others fidelity. Take time apart, get some legal advice for access to your child, concentrate on your relationship with your child. Let her go, nothing you can say or do with change how she feels. Please do not be a door mat. I can say this because I am finding it hard right now with a break up and have been a door mat, its not nice. Show some strength be firm, do not tell her you love her etc etc, tell her its her choice to go, if she goes she cannot expect you to wait around like a puppy. Remember think of your child. We are all products of our environment, do you like your environment now?

She does not respect you, your feelings, the intimacy you shared. Forgiveness is an important attribute in any relationship but a devoted love relationship does not ever cross that line of intimacy. respect yourself and be strong. Find your peace but not with her. She will only abuse your trust over and over. The person you knew and loved has evolved into something unrecognizable with an entirely different set of rules that are narcissistic and self-serving.

Regarding the child, you may have to settle for raising him is two households. Raising a child in a contentious house is worse than raising him in two peacful homes with different rules.

It's trash day. You need to take the trash out to the curb and leave her there. She can't live with you while she sleeps with other guys. And you cannot marry somebody who treats you like this.

Supernova had it right. Concentrate on your kid, and let her wander off. If both of you are mature enough to put the child's welfare above your individual issues, then you don't have to marry her, love her or do anything for or with her. Leave her go, she WILL cheat again, they almost always do.

If you let it go, she's only going to do it again the next time she has a crises, doubt, or argument with you.

You're giving her a template to base her future actions from.

People make mistakes though every action should have an opposite and equal reaction, otherwise discipline gets thrown out the window and you live in a disjointed relationship of chaos and festering resentments.

Marriage is a discipline and there are no half measures in it. All or nothing.

Action A- Fiancee cheats
Reaction B- Fiancee is no longer fiancee and relationship is voided.

What happens after that is anyone's guess though the child is irrelevant to the situation. The child may not like any possible changes to it's structure but it will either understand or come to understand as time goes on and becomes comfortable in the new structure or environment. Trust me on this. I know it to be personally true. Kids are resilient and will eventually fight the pair of you should you ever make hints of getting back together way down the road since the child's structure will have monumentally changed once already. Kids want and need stability. They also need to be shown right and wrong and the repercussions of acting wrongly.

React true to yourself and the kid won't judge either of you poorly for it. Set the right example for her and for your child.
