I'm usually a lot more smooth, and not used to the butterflies.

I feel really strange asking this as a grown man, but I have a friend whom I have known for quite a few years. We grew up on the same street, bowled in the same league, and marched in the same band in high school. Needless to say we have become very close. Over the last few months I have noticed that whenever I am around her, I get the butterfly feeling in my stomach and feel giddy, at peace, and over calm. I think that I have developed strong romantic feelings for this woman and am not sure how to procede. Like I said, I am usually a lot more smooth and don't have trouble with the ladies. Just for some reason, I can't think of how to A) Find out if she shares those romantic feelings, and B) Let her know about my romantic feelings. Any insight is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you. I am 21. It is not the first time I have had feelings for a woman. I have had plenty of girlfriends in the past. It is however the first time I have fallen for someone this hard.

OP, how long have you had these feelings for this girl? You say you're normally smooth, so treat her like you would any other girl you're pursuing. It will be much easier to figure out her feelings because you shouldn't have a hard time getting this girl alone. I doubt you're as smooth as you think, or you'd just make a move on her. Don't worry about ruining the friendship or whatever. Next time you're out with her, go for a kiss, and see what happens. If she likes it, great. If she doesn't, then decide whether to cut her off or continue to be an orbiter of hers. I suggest cutting it off, at least for a while.

InnocentMan is right. You really do just need to get this bird pumped at this point. Make a deft move, and move on if she doesn't go for it. Whatever you do, don't have a conversation about feelings with her, unless she is the one that brings it up.
