Beautiful but can't get a boyfriend

I know this is going to sound arrogant, but I know that I am good looking - I get told I'm really hot by every guy I meet. At clubs and bars and things, I could easily pick up any guy I wanted and my friends are jealous of the amount of male attention I receive whenever we go out. I can see people looking at me on the street and things like that so I realise that I am aesthetically pleasing.

However, I am so lonely. People only see me for one thing. People who like me for my personality are just my friends and I think guys find it hard to see past my looks. I feel depressed every day because there have been so many times when guys just want to see me "casually" or whenever I see them they can't keep their hands off me. I'm not easy and I don't put out all the time... but it seems like people give up on me unless it's for something physical and I feel so alone. I've always wanted a nice boyfriend but I can't seem to get one and I'm 19 years old now.

Pics or GTFO.

I know you say you don't put out easily, but what does that mean? How long have you normally wait when hanging out with someone before you sleep or fool around with them? And bars and clubs aren't always the best place to meet someone you wanna date, either. Not that it doesn't happen, but you tend to give off a certain look and attitude when you're in a club, especially if you're dressed sexy. I understand how you feel, I also recognize that I am a pretty girl, and I went 2 years single and got pretty lonely near the end of it.

You're not alone honey. There are plenty of women out there who feel just like you. Don't ever accept this as the norm. There is a guy somewhere out there who will value you for more than your looks, flaws and all. Those are the ones worth holding out for. Enjoy the time you have now to enjoy your friends, learn about yourself and grow.

Do you have any qualities that would make a man attracted to more than just your body?

Do you talk a lot or just expect guys to do the talking? What is your hobbies and passions(shopping is a turnoff)? Do you wear a lot of makeup? Do are you relying on your natural looks too?

Do you aproach guys that you like or just expect right guy to pick you up? What is your ideal boyfriend? Once you know excatly what type of guy you want, unconciously you will start attract those kind of guys.

And meanwhile we have girls on the board who are so ugly they can't get a boyfriend. So thankful that I'm average.

Howeedoooo, do you always look your best when you go out? Makeup and hair done? Flattering clothes? I'm wondering if you are accentuating your appearance to a point where it's the only thing people notice.

Have you tried going out with no make up, natural hair and average clothes? If you can underplay your looks, perhaps people will look further to your personality.

I went out with a good looking girl who wore next to no make-up and she wasn't afraid to just burst into a full on sprint to race with me on a night out in the middle of town. She was a naturally beautiful woman.

I think for a proper relationship, most mature men would prefer a natural woman like that over a show pony.

Do you make lots of effort on your appearance every day? If so maybe you come across as too uptight and just need to go out in regular clothes to allow your personality to show through.

Just get to know guys as friends firstly, and don't think of them as anymore. This will give you a chance to build relationships with guys based on your personality. Surely they'll find you attractive so at some point, if you want to take things further into a proper relationship, they won't see you as just a pretty face.

I've never had this issue. I'm sitting here like WTF. People comment on my looks a lot and tell me I'm stunning but it goes over my head. Its a nice compliment but I am down to earth and I just be myself all the time. I have never felt used or had any guy ask me for something "casual". Back when I was dating, I had no problem meeting guys to go to the cinema and wear a tracksuit, tie my hair up etc and most wanted a proper relationship with me. A lot of them just were not my type. Plus I don't have sex with anyone until it is fully exclusive and committed and until I am sure I trust him.

Be yourself hun. If you dress up like a barbie doll all the time then that would make you look superficial and as if you use your looks to get you what you want so don't do that. I went to the circus last night with my bf and just wore a tracksuit. If we were going for a meal Id get dolled up. I prefer to look natural. If your naturally pretty then you don't need to make too much effort on a day to day basis. And I am a pj addict. I love wearing my pjs around the house or just a t-shirt etc I think my bf likes that I am so laid back with him

If you are ugly its great because if people listens to you you actualy know that they care about you. Wether OP have this proplem that she dodnt know if guys just wana bang her or are truly attracted to her.

I have plenty of friends and have had many guy friends in the past who I have really got on well with, but they have always tried to make a pass at me and ruined the friendship in the end. It's like a lose-lose situation.

People telling me to dress down - I do. I'm a t-shirt, jeans and converse girl. I don't wear a lot of make up, just mascara really. I don't take too much care of my appearance: I bite my nails, I've never plucked my eyebrows. I have nice long blonde hair I suppose and I eat healthily and exercise so my body is in good shape. I have quite big boobs which seems to be one of the main attractions. I'm easy going, appear care-free and have a laugh with people. I seem to get on with everyone, family, teachers, friends very well but no boys have wanted to be my boyfriend. I've had a couple of things but they've never lasted and I just don't understand why.

I will ask again, do you have any qualities that would attract a man to more than just your body?

Also, where are you meeting these people?

Your only 19. I'm attractive too and other good qualities and I didn't have my first serious relationship til I was 21. Nothing wrong with that. It's better to get married and have babies later on in life. All these teenage sluts having babies early will be divorced and onto their second husband by the time a smart 30 year old is settling down. No rush. This is the time for college and knowing who you truly are. You don't need a boyfriend to make u happy.

Your problem could be that you are friendly to everyone but then again to no one. Guys might not feel enought special with you thinking that you are nice to everyone and they are just these everyone. Its importand to show and let out negative emotions too. Tease a bit and dont be everyones friend, especialy persons you dont like. Also some guys are just insecure and dont believes that big boobed blonde can really like them or they might have chance to be more than friends. Be patient it takes years to find good boyfriend.

I don't think you are arrogant, normally people can tell if they are good looking or not. For a girl that definitely helps in life, so I don't know why you don't have a boyfriend, wrong place at the wrong time I suppose.

That's not true. You said earlier that boys who are your friends have expressed an interest in dating you. Why not give them a chance? There's a lot to be said for starting out as friends

They do say that beauty is a curse, though. When I was at school, people would just assume that the beautiful girls were slags and they received a lot of abuse. Guys don't approach them because they are intimidated. And as the OP has pointed out, a lot of guys, especially at this age, just want them for sex and don't even look past their looks. That can result in loneliness that the OP is obviously experiencing. I wouldn't be jealous of someone who was lonely like that, even if she was the most beautiful person in the world.

But clearly it's creating a problem in the OP's life. So it's not exactly helpful saying that she is an "ungrateful ****" when evidently there is an issue with her beauty posing social problems for her.

i have the same problem but only with women...im a 26 year old man (not beautiful but an average skinny relatively rich dude in business). All my friends are also typical business men and they all have issues with women...but eventually even they found a GF and got married. I'm still single. Probably my own fault, but i think its normal that some should never find love. It's a mathematical theoretical possibility as well. Just stop looking for him and love may just come when least expected.

Life isn't that simple. Clearly it would be ideal to have the right level of beauty, which is pretty much subjective. So hopefully the OP will find someone that wants to get to know her past her looks.

I have the same issue and I am not even that good looking. I don't know about the guys you meet. Do they leave right away (or stop communicating with you) once they learned you won't put out? Or, as it happened to me, they just keep trying every time and gets really annoying. It is like the guys are so focus on looks and getting sex, they can't appreciate anything else. Basically thinking with their penis. Go out with the less confident types who think they are unworthy of you and thus are willing to wait. The type who are kind of shy.

my advice:
1. any time someone asks you on a date, before saying yes, first tell them that you have had trouble in the past with guys only liking you for physical reasons. say that because of this, you take things very slow and do not get physical until you've been dating for at least 10 dates and at least two months (or you can change the amount of dates and time if you want). then give them a chance to back out. this will weed out the bad ones.
2. do internet dating. use the least attractive picture of you for your profile, or no picture at all. on ok cupid the profiles are usually quite detailed and you can get a good idea about someone's personality before even sending a message. chat online for a while first, this way you can fine a nice guy before he even knows you're so good looking.

OP: If you want to attract a guy for a serious relationship, a club or bar isn't really the best place to do so. What you get in those places is exactly what you're getting.

To be honest the title of your thread kind of speaks for itself. If you call yourself ''beautiful'' then you obviously have quite a high opinion of yourself. Its fine to say that you think your good looking or whatever if your confident.. but i think that calling yourself beautiful is a tad arrogant. I think that side is probably what's letting you down. You may be pretty or ''beautiful'' but personality is what makes guys want a relationship, not looks. It might also be that you clearly know your good looking which can sometimes come off as intimidating to guys and makes them reluctant to speak to you incase you reject them.

Your only 19 though and youve got your hole life ahead of you to get a boyfriend! Have fun for now and let your true personality shine through without relying/thinking about your looks and you'll get a boyfriend naturally.. Thats my advice anyways xx

Modesty is attractive, i don't know any of my attractive friends who would tell me or anyone else ' i am beautiful ' that looks like full of yourself and can't see past yourself. and most guys won't date a girl like date, maybe have sex with her and dump her. it's the sad truth, sorry.

You are still only relatively young. I know that probably doesn't offer you a huge amount of help but the worst thing you can do would be to get desperate.

Anyways, look everyone has problems and noone is immune to them. However, you are not going to get a lot of sympathy saying you are lonely and the reason is because you are too beautiful. It's like someone saying I feel lonely because I am so rich and can't tell if my friends are just friends because I have all this money. The problem isn't that you are rich, it is because you are not good at picking good friends over bad friends. The problem only becomes a serious issue because you have a lot people wanting to be your friends which makes your weakness glaring obvious.

I don't believe you honestly think that the real problem is that you are too beautiful. If it is such a crutch I'm sure you can make yourself ugly, or just wait and age will help you. Anyways, you are obviously insecure about yourself for some reason, you could easily of posted hey I seem to having a problem finding a boyfriend and ask for help. I doubt the board would have come to the conclusion that you are just too beautiful. If you are obviously wanting help you have to come into it with the idea that you are going to have to work on something about yourself, no one on the board is going to be able to help if your real problem is that you too beautiful. You sound exactly like my cousin.
She is pretty but not half as good looking as SHE thinks she is. She also dresses and acts like a tart. She posts pictures of herself in her underwear on Facebook and gets a hell of a lot of male attention, but it's all the wrong kind of attention. She has the biggest ego ever and lets the comments on her half naked pictures go to her head.
She has never had a proper boyfriend either, but she is always going after other girls boyfriends. To sum it up, she's attractive but has an awful personality.
Maybe you should sit and think about your personality and the way you act/dress or whatever. If you sound nothing like my cousin then maybe your looks scares guys off because they don't think they have a chance. Try and be friends with them first and let your personality shine through.
