hes always talking about his made up "life in the hood"...yea gimme a break holmes, we live in the middle of nowhere.

hes always listening to that annoying crap that he calls rap. it drives me insane. i like everything but rap. its all about gangstas and drugs and hot babes n shit.

well guess what he was like shopping for 2 days ago?? a gun. thats right. a gun...and online at that! hes only 15 and probably doesnt know you have to be 18 to buy a gun..unless you do it illegally! he said he is gonna drive to a ghetto and go buy one..pshhh...the nearest ghetto is prolly more than 300 miles away.

the stupid ****. he thinks that gangstas are cool and all that...i want him to be different..what should i do? and no im not gonna kill him. he likes other music too its not just rap...but he takes it to heart. he thinks all of that is cool because he is so immature.

another thing he wants to be in the nba but never practices..hes pretty good but i can beat him with a little roughhousing..sometimes fair game even!

i havent told my mom but i did tell my brother "dude did you know you have to be 18 to buy a gun???" and he is like "i asked mom if she would sign it over for me and she said "yea whatever if you have your own money"" and im like "yea right she isnt that dumb"

To be quite honest, we're very susceptible to the influence of those we hang out with most. It's disgustingly true that we become who we associate ourselves with. The only way to get him to stop his wigga wayz would be to somehow make him dislike his current circle and completely revamp his social outlook. Not likely so outwaiting this juvenile phase is essentially the only option, unforunately.

Don't worry about his musical tastes and interests, it is his life afterall, he should be free to like whatever he likes. Just cause YOU don't like it doesn't mean he can't. Would you like it if the situation was reversed and you were the younger one and he was like "My punk ass brother listens to gay techno and rock and roll. This has to stop!"

But DO worry about him wanting to buy a gun... that's just stupid. Don't let that happen - you don't want to hear about a police officer that pulled him over because of a busted tail light that he shot and killed cause he panicked or any of the absolutely ridiculous stories you here in the news today related to kids with guns.. or some kid at school makes fun of his haircut so he pulls out the gun to scare the kid and it goes off and kills the innocent girl walking by on her way to class. Don't let that happen.

Kids today are very weak creatures. (I don't know if it's our generation or if it's always been so, I'm only 21) A disagreement arises "I'll kick your ass you fag" and blood is shed. Tone is right in that his tastes are his own and he's entitled to them. I don't think less of anyone for listening to that type of music, I just choose not to have them a major part of my life in any way. However letting music dillute his perception of reality to the point where he wants a gun because it's cool, and I'm assuming he dresses and talks like an absolute tool as well. I listened to a great deal of that same kind of gangster rap in early high school too. Wasn't my favorite but every now and then I'd listen and mostly chuckle at it. I still do. It's one thing to enjoy, it's entirely another to let something so trivial consume you. If he won't listen to you, let time teach him the lesson.
