should it be discouraged? i'm not sure. will it help if i discourage it? probably not.

Eh, wait until you have children, especially daughters. You will certainly have a different take on things.

I'm amused as how the perspective has changed once it came down to the issue of having a daughter.

It is easy to see the difference between what should be discouraged and what should be accepted when you are responsible for another human being.

And you are right funsounds, I did miss your last post on the previous page. Although I don't hold high school boys to the same level of responsibility as a true sex offender, you can see that the justification is often the same. "It feels natural."

why does that amuse you? it happens dozens of times everyday of LF. how many times do you see someone post their opinion on someone elses situation like it's as easy as pie...but when it comes to their own situation, which is EXACTLY the same as another persons sitatuation, it's "different" or they don't know what to do or whatever.

it's ALWAYS different with it comes to us and our own business as opposed to other peoples business.

i think there's a big difference between a 17-18 year old getting intimate with a 14 year old and a 30 year old getting intimate with a 14 year old. the 17 and 14 are peers, more or less...it is, for better or worse, normal. but the 30 year old or 40 year old or a 20-something...they're no longer peers...and it cannot even be weakly argued as being normal.

I thought I implied that I don't see them as morally equivelent. I am only arguing that the justification is the same. Besides, didn't you yourself agree that seniors and college boys do, in fact, prey upon younger girls? 17 and 18 year olds would fall into that category.

i said that the predation happens at the parties. younger, older, same age...shoot...the guy doesn't care. and more often than you'd think, girls lie about their age...they always say they're older than they actually are. silly girls...like that even matters to the guy! we don't give a damn! we're drunk and horny!

and i'm not sure if predation is the right word anyway. guys know they can get easy sex...all they're interested in is the sex...that's the purpose of the party. is that predation? maybe...but the girls are playing they role as prey extremely well.

on the flipside...in those high school romances...age irregardless, the stupid guy and stupid girl are both dumb and naive enough to think it's "love"...that it actually has a possibility of lasting. they're dumbed by stupid hormones and immature emotions. i dont think that's predation...it's just youth in all its idiocy...

I'm not even considering taking anyones nor losing my one virginity until I'm in a serious relationship. And I have no idea how long that takes to establish, but I'm guessing at least a year or so. Just so you won't get me wrong, I do not wish to take anyones virginity.

Now I'm amused by your questioning of what amuses me.

What's with this shiny object phenomenon?
