Yeah, if your a shy person and you actually realize that someone likes you that you like a lot, it definately can make it harder/more awkward. But just go for it. I mean, if you don't, you could miss out on something great. Then you'll really be kicking yourself later on.

i just realised that when he talks to me he moves closer and sometimes he brushes up against me innocently. he gets real excited when telling me a story and looks in my eyes heaps...he really does like me. i am a dense idiot.

i'm going to keep it going. keep the whole conversation thing going, keep smiling, keep the eye contact but i don't wanna move forward too fast coz i don't want to ruin the friendship thing. lets just say i tell him and he actually doesn't like me,he'll stop talking to me altogether because i will have made things awkward. i'm just making up ****ing excuses now. i really don't want to lose him as a friend.

Girls don't seem to realize that once you reach a certain point, you're just not friends anymore.

It's like they're living in denial.

It's obvious he likes you, so you're not going to be making a fool of yourself or making things awkward by asking him to go out with you. And it seems you like him too, so you're not just flattered by the attention. But I agree, don't make a move if you don't want to get involved with someone older. I've done it to a small degree and don't have a problem with it, but if you're uncomfortable with the age difference than you should probably make it clear that you don't want anything more than friendship.

    Yes.

She is 4 years older than I, and a college graduate.

I've yet to really start college and I can't legally drink until May.

What do you want to know?

what do you like to do together. do you like her because of the age difference or because of the person she is. does the fact that she's older make you want her even more.

Yikes! thats a big age gap. But my aunt married a guy who was 15 yrs older then her. But that was back in the 50s. They would probably still be together except for the fact she died of ovarian cancer in the late 70s.

Don't stress over what you can do together until you start hanging out.

Doesn't sound like you're really even that far yet.

Common interests will make it easy.

I think the age gap thing can work as long as your both on the same level of maturity. Some people act younger then they actually are or older. I think that plays a lot into how well the two people can relate.

If your mature and he's a bit immature in ways, you meet in the middle. It can work if you want it to. Just give it a chance already!
