I don't really listen to new stuff but try megadeth, disturbed (you'd probably like), iron maiden, metallica (old stuff), pantera (badass!), slipknot, slayer...
and if you like old hard rock... van halen, ac/dc, black sabbath, kiss, queensryche, motley crue, journey...
...and don't listen to bands like coal chamber because they're lame

Led Zeppelin
Just a few suggestions. Some of these aren't metal, but I like all of these. Metal and hard rock are not much different anyways. There's a few more I can't think of.
