Sydney Riots...

I can't believe this is happening in Sydney at the moment...

Where I live and work is far away from all the trouble, so it may as well be happening in another country as far as am aware. But I am still shocked and appalled that something like this could happen in my city...

I saw that on the news last night actually! I thought of you two when I saw all those teens running around!

I hope this thing doesn't escalate... I fear for my suburb and for my neighbours cars...

Sometimes I'm horribly ashamed of my own skin. There are some downright ignorant caucasians still running around, makin the rest of us look bad. Sheesh.

In any case, if you stop lookin' at things as "us" and "them" you'll feel a lot less ashamed.

iam so ashamed :(, its disgraceful what the youths of both "sides" are doing :(

If it could happen in a city as diverse and liberal as Los Angeles, it can happen anywhere.

Fras, usually I don't. But when I have to hear from other friends of mine how white people are hateful racists, it's kinda hard not to feel singled out. It's also kind of hard to argue when they're proving themselves to be exactly that.

While that footage is certainly disturbing, I saw much worse footage during the LA riots. The most obvious difference was the ethnicity of the rioters.

Yeah the LA riots was crrrrraaazy

weren't there riots with the aboriginals and the police there at one point recently. but i agree with vashhhh, if there's a lot of diversity and SES segregation there are bound to be upheavals.
