need your opinion
Hi
I would need your opinion about this.
As a divorced man, do you think it's normal to do small things for your ex-wife just like helping around the house when you visit your children to her place? what if you had a bad divorced process. Is this still normal for a guy to do such things?
Thank you for your opinion

I do things at my ex house when Im there.... But then again I didn't have a nasty divorce

I think thats great. I am all about kindness, just remember to protect yourself emotionally.
-
I see nothing wrong in that. I think it's good if you can show some kindness to her and the kids. Just stay guarded emotionally.

Kindness and compassion are more powerful than anything. Sorry, I don't mean to sound like the Dalai Lama... My parents divorced when I was young. My grandfather (moms side) hated my dad. It created tension throughout my life. He held the grudge up until he died. My grandfather was admitted to the hospital after having a stroke. My dad showed up to be there for my mom, grandfather and me. That showed me that it is very important to rise above all the bullshit in life. You will miss out on soo much in life if you turn things away. Your kids will notice it.

Nothing wrong with helping out the ex occasionally, as long as she is not taking advantage of you.
That being said, if you meet someone new, expect to discontinue the help.

I have no problem helping out with my ex wife. I installed a water trough for my daughters horse last week and lent her my lawn mower it's not a big deal I'd do the same for anyone
And my car broke down few weeks back and my ex lent me her spare so I could get to work ok
As zerokool pointed out sometimes you just rise above the BS especially when you have kids. They don't need to see their parents shitty at each other
