Yeah, I guess there is always that possibility. In your case, though, I suspect your boyfriend situation may have something to do with your hesitation. Perhaps you just aren't ready yet?? I mean, things aren't really resolved, are they?

I'm not sure what this has to do with the fact that I wouldn't call a man, but it doesn't really matter since I am married, so in my case, my cowardice worked out, and yes, my husband did the calling. ;)

Anyway, I do think that there are some men who prefer to do the "chasing", although not all men, of course. To each his/her own.

Blackie, let us know what happens. I don't understand the reluctance thing either, do ppl just settle for someone within their social circle then? now I kinda understand the times I've looked at a couple and thought 'that person can do better'...hmmph!!

I don't get it either, but I'm starting to think that perhaps we all over-complicate/analize relationships/dating here. I'm very guilty of it too, don't misunderstand.

If I look back, my best relationships have just 'happened' and we clicked, no games. 'I want you, you want me' type of thing. That goes for whether we met in a dark, smoke-filled bar or were introduced through a close family member after church services. (Several examples come to mind)

Well, I did phone him (the bar guy) back. In either case, it would have been foolish and rude for me not to. We talked for a while, and I discovered that in the city of 2 Million people,....this guy that I met 1/2-way across town at a bar just happens to live 2 blocks down the street from my ex boyfriend.

In spite of everything, including the fact that, you're right ---- I may not be ready yet.......I invested and remained present for the conversation.

I'm really busy coming up so I suggested that about 10 days - 2 weeks from now might be an okay time to meet up for coffee.

Things may be more resolved for my boyfriend / ex,...than they are for me. I'm trying my best not to pin too many hopes on it.

How so? Like maybe we shouldn't believe anything somebody says or the way they seem unless they prove to be consistent?

At least you tried, so that's good! I do wonder what's up with her though...

p.s. blackie, i was wondering if it would have made a difference if you made a date on the spot that night instead of calling her a few days later..?
