I know this is strange but they say to show up near the end of the night with food. I say offer to grab a bite to eat afterwards. Another tip is don't drink a lot.
Now you know how guys feel...unsure of the signals, not sure what the right time is to ask them out, etc.....it's nerve racking isn't it? It's not the 1950's where you have to sit by the phone waiting for a response. There's nothing wrong with taking matters into your own hands.....guys find it very flattering a girl would make an effort.

Ya just offer to grab a bite to eat....you could ask him where would be a great place to go and would he like to join you. Done it myself :) Never got turned down.
