People will think you are a brilliant conversationalist if you can make THEM feel comfortable when conversing. I think having a general list of "getting to know you" questions in the back of your head is a good idea, so long as you can tell when to deviate from them so your conversation doesn't start to feel like an interview.
Sure those are examples. There are many others. Keep in mind I was just giving my own opinion of what I look for. But I enjoy a good argument (many of those issues could be seen as contentious). Others might find those topics too intense. I think Vash gave the best advice about trying to judge the comfort level of your conversation partner & try to find a balance between superficial pleasantries and interest.Quote:

If she suddenly stops talking or looks abit pist. I generally would just shut up. I try to lighten up the conversation but somethings I dont know what to say.

Sometimes it's hard to relate to someone you don't really know that well... thus the difficulty in conversation. A girl who is a good conversationalist will ask for your ideas/opinions/input as well. Don't make it like an interview... its sometimes silly how people have to make so much small talk or talk about unimportant things just to be friendly. It would just be so much easier if we could just say "You know, you're a really cool person, we should be friends." It's beautifully simple, yet not correct, according to mostly everyone... have I gone off topic? : S
