I'm on the side of peace. I think the UN needs to be strengthened and should enforce it militarily no matter which side uses aggression. Israel should not be controlling the border at this point.
If Israel uses force, it should be sanctioned and the head of state removed & an election held. Same for Palestine.
Continue iteratively until the ppl kick out the terrorists and clamp down on the hatemongers on BOTH sides.
I think that Israel should be left to Jews. It is such a small piece of land that was given to them as their rightful home. I have worked with many Arabs who were peaceful, and those who do not wish to make piece with Jews, should be deported to an Aran country of their choice.Quote:

I'm not sure why Israel shouldn't be controlling its own border (it's for damn sure the rest of the world won't defend them), but perhaps had the UN stopped the missle attacks on Israel in the first place, things wouldn't have devolved to this point.
My life is so comfortable compared to the rest of the world.
I think those in the area should just stop the territorial pissings and get along. Anyone who doesn't want to do THAT should be deported. Awful lot of multicultural nations out there that manage this...
As an impartial observer, I would have to conclude that both sides are to blame for what's gone on. "They started it" and other school playground type cries just doesn't cut it when ppl are dying.
How would you deal with a bullying situation in your child's school, Dig? Its really the same core issue, just scaled up.
I would shoot them.
when my family came to Israel I was 12, my baby sister was 2. Israel took us in and gave us everything (I am not a Jew though.) as soon as we got home we were all given gas masks and explained the situation. we had to put wet towel on all our windows and doors to prevent gas from leaking in, in case of an attack. we could hear the rockets flying over our heads. my mom had panic attacks every gas alert and wanted to commit suicide. i just want Israel to be left alone.Quote:

What's wrong is when ppl will sneer at potential solutions to problems but then don't post any better ideas of their own. IMO, the only thing worse than 'wrong' is apathy.

We've argued about this before. There is no peace because the Pals (especially those in Gaza) don't want it in large enough numbers. If they did, they'd elect someone peaceful. Giving a racist organization like the UN more power would be a death sentence to Israel.
