Many times I hear people proudly say they're from some other country or they can name off every single race and nationality within their bloodline.

What about those of us who might be able to name two or three races/nationalities... but are generally clueless about the rest? Should feel proud... if for no other reason than people either assume your origins (and are often wrong) or they are completely baffled by your appearance and really can't figure out your origins at all.

I know I am half German... but wasn't sure about the rest... till I followed one line back to England. However, there are rumors in my family of Native American, all kinds of European origins, and even African origins... though I really don't know.

Usually just stick with half German and half mutt (as in uncertain of actual inherited bloodlines)....

Only ever bothered with going as far as my grandparents, off which I would be part Estonian, part German, but still dominantly Swedish.

Yea I only go as far as my grandparents. So with that being the case for me, I'd have to say I'm black, indian, and spanish.

I think people being proud of the culture of their ancestors or feeling a closer belonging to people of the same ethnic group is a sign of mental retardation to some extent

I can list my ethnicity to the specific places in Italy and Germany. I'm half Calabrian (region of Italy), quarter Prussian (region of Germany) and a quarter English. So the geographical mean of those regions would make me Swiss I guess

Although I feel a stronger attachment to my Calabrian side, that is simply because my dad is from Calabria whereas my German and English grandparents are not. Hence, my family does things with a Calabrian twist. Ironically, my best friend here at school is full-blooded Calabrian

I think it's probably natives of Southern or Eastern Russia or ones from old Soviet Republics.

There are thousands of different ethnic groups living in Russia ranging from asian, turkic, iranian, arabic, jewish, different types of slavs (Not to mention all types of old European enclaves germanic, baltic, nordic, greek) I think Dagestan (one of the regions of Southern Russia) itself has inhabitants from thousands of different ethnic groups and that's just a tiny region within Russia.
