Concerned about my social life

Hi Everyone,

I recently met this absolutely fantastic young women. We have only been on 4 dates but it was love at first site. She asked me to be her boyfriend and I said yes. She is everything I could possibly want in a girlfriend.


The problem I am having is that I am not a very social person. Neither is she to be honest but more so than me. I don't have any close friends. My social life took a dive when I started my PhD and I sort of let people just drift away. I have work friends who I occasionally do stuff with but nothing apart from that. I'm worried that she is going to find that a bit strange. I'm not really concerned. It would be nice to develop a new group of friends (I joined a few walking groups recently to this end) but I'm not really fussed either way.


Would you think it was strange if your boyfriend/girlfriend didn't have any close friends?
