Are our minds so confused with wishing and imagination and the love poems that we don't even see anymore what love is?

Looks like we just wish but we don't know.

If we want to be able to do something at all, we need to have the correct knowledge to succeed. Right?

But when it comes to relationships, love, we just dream, wish and imagine and think we know what we are doing?

I think once you've had a few relationships you can easily tell what real love is compared to lust or infatuation.
