    What's in a name?

Why is it that I have dated 3 Matts, 3 Mikes and 3 Andrews? Why are so many guys named Richard actually dicks? Can you ever trust a Jeremy?

What about the rest of you? If you put all of your exes in a room, would they be the Same Name Gang?

I haven't had very many exes, so there is no name overlap yet, but if my husband ever divorced me, there is a high possibility that I would meet up with another man namd Dan.

Anyway, I think the top ten names for boys rarely changes, except perhaps for which occupies the number one spot. That would explain the overlap.

For the record, I have a nephew named Matt and another named Andrew, and my dad's name was Richard.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

We discussed names and how they affect people in my philosophy class.

    Long story short, it's bullshit.

It's hard to believe that someone who goes thru life with a name like Melvin or Gertrude would be unafffected...

Besides, do you think that if somebody had a different name they'd be a different person? I can understand it if somebody had the name Shithead (sha-theed) but.. meh..

I think people usually grow into their names (I certainly did) but for some less-resilient people who can't handle teasing, yeah... I think it could have an adverse effect.

    They're thick around here.

Zarathu, don't you think that the kind of parents who would choose to name their son Ezekiel are pretty easy to envision? You can just imagine Ezekiel, too, can't you?

i just think there might be something to the idea that Steves are fundamentally different from Aspens. I know threee guys named Aspen. They're pretty much the same type of guy. Weird, huh?

I know two Willows and a River. Two Shantis, two Rains, a Zion and a Cadence.

This is what I have to deal with.
