ipods are notorious for defects.

Mine was/is still defective even after getting it repaired.

Sometimes the clickwheel just don't work at all, and on top of that, you can't just swap out the battery, you need to send it in for a new one.

Sorry, technology doesn't always work. Sometimes things break. How come, say, a BMW owner does not suddenly hate with a passion all BMW's just because his broke down; they have enough sense to realise that sometimes cars break down, and don't make videos of themselves shooting the car, either.
I think I have a good reason for disliking the Zune though: if you buy one, a cut has already gone to universal studios to make up for all the music you're gonna steal and put onto it. Even if you buy all your music legally, you've already been treated like a thief. Yes yes I know the screen is bigger (tho imo smaller is better) and wifi (which is crippled) and blah blah balh.. still being treated like a thief, though!

ouch, bad luck. Various family members of mine have had ipods since almost the start. No defects ever. Unless you voided the warranty, as far as I know apple should get you a new one.

i really don't like apple products... i've really started hating windows too. i hate how it's all commercialized. i just started making my own shit. i built my own laptop and i'm running ubuntu linux.

everybody and their grandma has an ipod... except me. i have the $42 walmart special, which has all the capabilities of an ipod. (not to mention i don't have to download bullshit like itunes. i can just go to my hardware section and open it up like another hard disk, and drag and drop or do whatever!)

Yeah, I gotta say I dislike how everything is becoming more commercial.. don't see why you'd dislike iTunes then though.. I mean, you may not like the interface or whatever, but at least the itunes store can be used by independent artists not dealing through big record labels.
