I don't have to be a doctor to know that you're making elective surgery out to be way more risky than it really is.

Sure, someone should try to fix their esteem issues internally, but that doesn't mean they will. But how can you say that someone with extra folds of skin will ever truly appreciate their beauty? It's the same person that buys a one piece bathing suit so that she can actually go outside to the beach or to the pool without people pointing and laughing. It's the same person that looks in the mirror and continues to see the same bigger woman because of those extra folds of skin.

I don't see anything wrong with it. If it's something like this, I think it is perfectly acceptable. I don't agree with people fixing things that aren't messed up, but who are we to tell them that what they think is imperfect isn't?

Sure. But not when you're young.

If you lose a lot of weight as a female when you're younger, the fat leaves from your breasts as well and makes them sag. It's supposed to come with age. Someone in their 20s shouldn't have to accept it.

I couldn't stop my friend's gf from getting a botox lip injection. Her "reason" was that because she's 4 years older than him she must get one to look prettier. I didn't say anything about the result, i personally don't like anything that looks fake, I prefer natural beauty.

    It's a mixture of things.

But even if it's someone not taking care of themselves early on, they can decide whether or not they want to rectify it. If they do, they'll still have a reminder until they get the skin removed.

And I really don't understand your disdain for pharmaceutical companies.

Feel free to tell me why you have such a strong disdain for them.

You mentioned in another thread that they're producing drugs and not finding cures.

Are you seriously telling me that you think that pharmaceutical companies aren't trying to find cures? Do you even know about the process that comes from the production of pharmaceuticals? I can assure you that they are trying to find cures for the diseases they are currently treating with different medications.

The government even offers programs to pharmaceutical companies so that they continue to produce drugs and try to discover cures for the extremely rare diseases, the ones that they wouldn't profit from enough.

It generally takes 8-15 years for a drug to hit the market from the time it is first developed through all of the phases of testing. Even if a drug was discovered to cure a disease, it would still take 1-3 years of testing even if the FDA rushed it. But some disease are extremely difficult to cure.

You're hatred for corporations is starting to cloud your opinion.

Why would someone get botox injected into the lips? Botox paralyses the muscles? Usually people who want plumped lips get Restylane injected.

My point was that a person's appearance has little to nothing to do with "culture", and that people shouldn't limit themselves to what people perceive (or prejudge) what is behavior is appropriate.

What does having slanted eyes have anything to do with "asian culture"? I do not care for limiting myself to cultural norms, but even if I did, I think it would be more important that this asian woman continue to use her language, and share her traditions than worry about whether or not her eyes are slanted. Does anyone seriously think she's completely lost her culture because of this surgery?

The first person to stereotype anyone in this thread was Nisha.

But many of you are too blind to see that because offending a black person in this forum is cause for more backlash than offending an asian. This thread is evidence of that.

    So f*ck off.
