    Engineering jobs are considered industrial

Marx made that same stupid argument that people were becoming appendages of the machine. I hate Marx with a fiery passion for him being so wrong and thinking he was right

I'm not saying we need more machinists or factory workers, I'm saying we need more THINKERS- more ENGINEERS, people figuring out how to better produce things for cheaper (and soon forcibly in a more sustainable way), products that are more useful and with newer and better capabilities and greater reliability

Don't be so narrowminded and associate industrial work with smokestacks

Let people learn their lesson. Yeah. That's great economic policy.

Unfortunately DM, they world market is growing so much when it comes to production and higher education, that it's going to be harder to create industrial and production type jobs in this economy. The competition is getting bigger and better (oh, and cheaper - overseas)

bsummer with all due respect you are wrong. everybody is being affected by this.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.

That's how everyone thinks, until it's money coming out of their pockets. So far, you remain relatively unaffected, so you can sit back and say "Too bad for you, suckers!". I bet if you had hundreds of thousands of dollars in investments that tanked, or you had a job at one of the big banks that are tanking, you'd be all for the bailout.

Guess it just depends on what side of the fence you're sitting on right?
    No.

We probably will be affected by it. Maybe even lose my job. I accept it. Shit will hit the fan, and I'll move out of New Orleans. I accept I could lose all of my savings. Times would get hard and food would be hard to come by. Might have to move to Texas, with Amy's family whom have them means to farm.

    Desperation is key for revolution.

Yes, I'm willing to accept that, and I'd embrace it. I'm young and have no children to look after, let that economy crash.

.... we don't need revolution. If someone in my neighborhood took part in your revolution I would blow their house up when they are in it

While you may disagree with Karl Marx, that doesn't mean he is wrong, silly boy.

After you go through your ivy-league school, and have a list of noteworthy accomplishments, maybe, maybe your idea will be considerable.

He thought society would break down into TWO DISTINCT CLASSES, today there are an infinite number in classes when measured by income alone, prestige alone, or a combination of both

This 1 class was supposed to overthrow the other class. These classes never even existed so they couldn't even fulfill his second prediction!

Marx was so fuccking wrong it's not even fuccking funny. There is no way he can be defended. Too bad such a retard had so much influence

Yeah, that makes sense. Ideas in logic are worthwhile when the person can do math, which luckily I can. Besides, all the accomplishments I need to get what I want are being in this school and getting good grades to get into medical school to make more in a year than you will in more than 5 years

Anybody can do math... even a computer. But even a computer cannot understand what it does.

Starting to learn about importers vs. exporters, I see. Good.

BTW, DM, hate to break it to you but medicine is a *service* industry, if a highly trained one. Same for lawyers, accountants, etc.

Ha, not really. Its just something I mentioned some time ago he find out about as he didn't know much about it. Sounds like he's doing that.

Its a good thing, really. I just like to tease, DM. He's got a good brain, IMO.

All they did was pass a vote. Not like they've actually DONE anything, yet.

Things will settle eventually. The Economist has been calling for this bubble to burst since about 3 years ago. Those with investments can afford to ride out this storm. Its actually a good time for those who know where to put their money, IMO. Too many stocks were overvalued. End of one thing is the beginning of something else, as its said.

You have no idea what you are talking about. People can’t understand math? Stfu. The linear algebra class I’m in now is impossible to come up with answers unless you know why you are doing something

I know that. However, a good engineer can make what (before going into the management part of it) around $150k per year tops? I’m in this for the money, I want to make $350k per year. Besides, half of my family are engineers anyways so that makes up for it
