Marrying a woman, and helping raise a child are two completely different things. I know a non-married couple who had a child that they raise jointly.

we were living together and we lost the apartment, so I was living with a friend and he was living at home with his dad. during that time i was working so much that we never got to see each other so we separated...i had NO IDEA he was persuing this other female, and she got pregnant during that time. so technically it wasnt cheating.

It sounds to me your man wants you to walk around with a sign saying OFF THE MARKET without taking you off the shelf. You have to talk about this with him. If you can't communicate over this then how will you handle serious forks in the road during marriage. I know some guys that get their girl a ring as a symbol for other men. Then once that ring is on they are in no rush to set a wedding date. Call his ass out.
