Food: How long does it last?

I made some pasta salad. No mayo. Just olive oil and loads of vinegar along with onions, tomatoes and green pepper.

Anyone have a clue how long it'll last in the fridge? I figure the vinegar will preserve it but how long?

Should be good for another 5-7 days, I'd say.

Depends on whether the colander was sterilized, the serving spoon not reintroduced with contaminants, and the state of the fruits/vegetables going in. Also the storage container... If all air was expelled from it before refrigeration.

3-10 days, fridge dependent (a guess)

yup, i'd say about a week or so.. i've eaten some old ass food when i'm awoken from a hangover, but i think that i have a slightly stronger stomach than the average joe.

bottom line, if it doesn't smell good, then it won't taste good.

I wouldn't eat it after a couple of days... tomatoes don't seem to keep well for longer than that, in my experience.

Let us know how long you keep it.

vashti is right ... tomatoes and fridges don't get along well so cut tomatoes will have a bad (mushy) texture in just a few days (never put fresh whole tomatoes in the refrigerator!).

As for safety, if your fridge is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 degrees Celsius) then those ingredients together (no killers there) will certainly be safe for at least a week to 10 days if they were reasonably fresh when you made it.

pasta usually doesn't stay well over night.

i usually make sauce and keep it separate from the pasta until it gets eaten. that you way you can save the sauce and make some pasta the next day.

and yeah, tomatoes are not supposed to go in the fridge. it turns them into not a tomato anymore.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.

Miso's right, it's the pasta that's going to make it icky as quickly as the tomatoes. It'll get all saturated and bloated. I give it four days, tops.

Yeah. It's all ready turning kind of funky. Next time I make enough to feed six linebackers I think I'll invite company.

I think you should conduct an experiment to tell us how many days it will take for the food to actually make you sick.

Erm. How 'bout I invite a few of my friends over in a week or two and serve it to them instead?

Sounds like a plan. But how do you feel about oysters instead? I hear they're an aphrodisiac.
