When you hold a sharp knife to the skin, even if you don't put much pressure on it, you can cut very easily. I've cut myself quite a few times and I'm not clumsy and I have years of experience using such sharp tools, designed for butchering and whatnot. The other day I almost sliced off a fingernail while peeling potatoes. I've cut myself on various occasions, filleting fish and gutting various game animals, even slicing and dicing vegetables. There are two vital veins on the neck called jugulars. It doesn't take too much effort to slice them, and that indubitably means bleeding to death. It is *very* foolish to be holding a knife to anyone's neck for any reason, ESPECIALLY sex, when it might seem like a good idea, when you're aroused and not thinking rationally, where any unexpected movements or the slip of a motion could cause a very serious injury, even death.

Strangling isn't quite as risky, but still, you can really injure a person this way. You can really do some damage to the larynx and all sorts of other shit. It doesn't take too much effort, especially with a fragile woman. Also, blood chokes (when you cut off the flow of the jugular veins) can be fatal. We weren't even allowed to do that shit in high school wrestling.

In the end it's your decision, but believe me, I'm not talking out of my ass. Never underestimate your own strength or your girlfriend's vulnerability.
