Well, your heart may be just...but its very easy to say unless you've been through one yourself. (For example you being close to the victim(s) that got murdered, etc)

I believe the death penalty is fine...but I also believe in Nazism, so I have my opinions...

And just like Innova said, it's completly different if your on the victim's side. How would you like it if someone raped or killed or did both to someone close to you? I bet you would want them dead, right? Exactly...

Well a friend of mine died four years ago. I dont want to go into the details over what happened - but had we lived in the US and not the UK, there's a chance the death penalty wouldve been considered for the person responsible for her death. I dont want this person dead. Yes I hate him for what he did, I hope he rots in hell, but I dont want him to get the death penalty. He can spend the rest of his life in jail, he's given up his freedom, his independance, basically his "life", by doing so. So, having been there sort of, I can say honestly that I am against the death penalty under any circumstances.

You need to get your "morals" straight. First of all, what are they based on? Religious belief? You mention that this person should "rot in hell", but wouldn't stand for him being executed....??

Do you know what hell is by Christian definition? You would find it acceptable for someone to go there, but unacceptable for them to be executed on an earthly realm?

Either way, if you are going to yap away with pseudo religious "morals", then perhaps you should get some of your facts straight about the death penalty.

If your "morals" aren't based on religious theology, then they are based on nothing. The concept that people "naturally" have morals is an ignorant statement. I shouldn't have to tell you how twisted the ideals and beliefs of certian groups of people are and have been in the past.

I'm not Christian. Although I said the phrase "rot in hell" I dont even believe in hell so in my world that isnt possible. I think the 'eye for an eye' stuff is bullshit. Nobody has any right to take another persons life under any circumstances. Even if they have taken a life themselves - that doesnt mean we can sink to their level and do the same.
