I do respect her past though admittedly, I did struggle for awhile. She had been promiscuous though I didn't know why. When she later told me that she was insecure and lacked confidence when she first moved to the city, she found validation with sex and men. That knowledge certainly made me more sympathetic and understanding.

ok back to the cussing deal. I would just ask her nicely to not do it. Relating some other past issues is your issue for asking, altho I have done the same and regretted it. You can also go into cussing is just like smoking. It doesn't do anyone any good. If she says she had a hard day and u can relieve her stress by listening and maybe massaging her shoulders and eventually a happy ending. You all win.
