I used to think she got it from drinking from a glass of wine but now that I found out she's dating guys behind my back I'll leave that in the middle. My parents obviously keep it as a secret.
Every now and then she feels miserable and lays in bed all day long.

What are the steps I should take to avoid that I get it from her?

Oral herpes (cold sores) are even more common, and the thing is you may never even have a outbreak of it. I was also told that you can't spread it if you don't have a outbreak, so I would say that what you should do is make sure your sister is educated in dealing with it, then let it be.

Please tell me how it is spread without a sore present? I am not calling you out on it, but it was a medical person who told me it was not a worry if there was no sore present. I could very much be misinformed, and just want to know more info about it.
