Is this legit or is she backing out on me?

I had planned on taking this girl to a concert on Sunday Night (Easter). First time going out with her. Now when I asked her, I had no idea the concert was on Easter Night and neither did she. We had planned on me picking her up at her house and getting a bite to eat before the play. Last week she asked if I was sure on Sunday because that's Easter and I said yes. Well last night she told me she isn't sure about Sunday Night because she has a family get together. So now I'm wondering if she is being serious or just using that as an excuse.

Any tips? If we don't go should I plan for us to do something again and if she backs out of that, just give up?

Usually if a women is serious about seeing you, then even if she can't make the date you suggest, she will make a counter offer. So in your case I would have expected her to say something like 'I can't make Sunday, but how about Wednesday evening instead?'.

Plan for you two to do something once more, and if she backs out of it again, move on.
